招募 | 哥伦比亚大学XPMethod小组的人文社科信息化处理实践

4月30日，哥大全球中心 | 北京和北京今日美术馆邀请哥伦比亚大学图书馆数字学术馆员Alex Gil博士就人文学科的数字化实验方法、资料整理检索和呈现方法等展开更深入的分享。

On April 30, Columbia Global Centers | Beijing and Today Art Museum invites you to a public talk by Alex Gil, the Digital Scholarship Librarian at Columbia University Libraries. The talk will focus on the experimental digital methods in the humanities, from epistemic design to literary visualizations.

随着在线网络、计算方法、消费硬件以及机器学习的兴起，建立释译文化记录的工作正处于不确定的转变之中。在过去的七年中，通过不断的实验和快速的原型设计，Alex Gil所在的哥大XPMethod小组尝试创造性地介入学术人文、人类文化记录以及社会变化的交叉领域。

With the rise of online networks, computational methods, consumer hardware, and more recently, machine learning, the work of building and interpreting a cultural record is under uncertain transformations. The XPMethod group has for the past 7 years tried to creatively intervene in the intersection of academic humanities, the human cultural record and these societal changes by consistent experimentation and rapid prototyping.

本次讲座中，Alex Gil博士将介绍来自团队的重要概念和实践，包括认知设计、最小计算、灵活帐篷等，与参与者一起讨论这些研究活动如何与课堂交融。

In this lecture, Gil will cover some of the important concepts and praxis that have come out of the group—epistemic design, minimal computing, nimble tents, and more—by showcasing selected projects. We will also have an opportunity to discuss how these research activities intersect with the classroom.

Alex Gil

哥伦比亚大学图书馆数字学术馆员。他与哥大教授、学生和图书馆学学者合作，利用计算机和网络技术进行人文研究、教学和知识生产。

Alex Gil is the Digital Scholarship Librarian at Columbia University Libraries. He collaborates with faculty, students and library professionals leveraging computational and network technologies in humanities research, pedagogy and knowledge production.
