影片梗概 | Synopsis
《广州新语》是一部关于在日常生活中“创造”奇迹的作品。三个好朋友若含、莉莉、祖儿在广州一起渡过她们的暑期，她们一边好奇地用手机记录着她们的假期，一边“发现”着她们身上各自具备的特殊能力。影片讲述了这三个女孩用她们的神奇的超能力探索广州这座城市。

导演/艺术家 方璐
方璐1981 年生于广州，现工作、生活于纽约、北京、广州。她毕业于美国纽约视觉艺术学院（2005）和旧金山艺术学院（2007）。她曾在博而励画廊、艺门画廊、箭厂空间、博尔赫斯当代艺术机构、空间站举办个展；作品曾在在旧金山的亚洲美术馆、卢贝尔美术馆、马尔玻璃方雕塑博物馆、OCAT 上海馆、尤伦斯当代艺术中心、圣彼得堡的Tampa 美术馆、中央美术学院美术馆、深圳雕塑双年展等展出。方璐是录像局的共同创始人之一，这是位于北京和广州的独立录像档案机构。

“Canton Novelty” is a film about making miracles which happen in our everyday life. Ruohan, Lily and Zoe, three girls who are close friends, are spending their summer holiday together in Guangzhou, a dense, changing city in sub-tropical southern China. They are curiously documenting their vacation time with their cellphones, and meanwhile “discovering” the superpowers that each of them has. They are exploring the city with their wondrous abilities.
Fang Lu is an artist based in New York, Beijing and Guangzhou. She was born in 1981 in Guangzhou, China. She holds an MFA from the San Francisco Arts Institute (2007), and a BFA from the School of Visual Art in New York (2005). Her works have been featured in solo exhibitions at Boers-li Gallery, Pekin Fine Arts, Arrow Factory, Space Station, Borges
Libreria Institute of Contemporary Art. Fang Lu has shown her works at Rubell Family Collection Museum in Miami, Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl, OCAT Shanghai, Tampa Museum of Art, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Beijing, Shenzhen Sculpture Biennial. She is the co-founder of Video Bureau, an independent video archive resource in Beijing and Guangzhou.

“艺术家的电影”是一个邀请当代艺术家拍摄电影短片的非营利项目，旨在把不同当代艺术家的影像观念及语言以电影短片这种更具亲和力的方式推介给艺术圈外更多的观众，在当代艺术范畴的“影像”与文化工业意义上的“电影”之间寻找某种有意义的结合可能。同时也是让艺术家们尝试不同于展览系统的工作方式和展示途径，意图使当代艺术影像实践获得不同于艺术圈的观念时尚与趣味积习的活力。
“艺术家的电影”创办于2016。由北京艺述家文化传播有限公司岀品。
“Film by Artist” is a non-profit program inviting contemporary artists to make short films, which are aimed at introducing artistic concepts and languages from diverse contemporary artists to a much broader audience through the media of short movies, and it also explores the possibilities of creating linkages between the concept of “video work” in a contemporary art context and the idea of “movie” in the wider cultural industry level. Meanwhile, it provides artists with a working platform that is differentiated from the present exhibition system in the art world and, thus, effectively stimulates the creative energy within the contemporary field of art by introducing alternative tastes and inspirations.
“Film by Artist” was established in 2016. It is presented by Beijing Yishujia Culture Diffusion Limited.
