寿山石系

产于福建省福州市北郊寿山村。寿山石的矿点分布较广，所产石材色泽十分丰富，质地的差异也较大。有田坑、水坑、山坑等类别，山坑石的主要矿区有高山、旗山、月洋山、峨嵋山等。各矿区均有不同的品种。

Shoushan stone group

Shoushan stone is produced at Shoushan Village in the northern outskirts of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. Shoushan stone mines are relatively scattered, producing a rich variety of colors. Their grains differ greatly from place to place. The sites vary in nature too: there are field pits, water pits and mountain pits. The mountain pit stones are extracted mainly from Mount Gao, Mount Qi, Mount Yueyang and Mount Emei, all producing different stones.

田坑是产于溪田之中的独石。其中质地半透明或微透明的田黄冻石在印石中最为名贵。田黄中又因不同色调，分出黄金黄、桔皮黄、金裹银等不同品目。寿山石中其他名品如白芙蓉、杜陵均是山坑所出。水坑石类的佳者有水晶冻、鱼脑冻等，质地晶莹，有如凝脂。

The field pits produce solitary stones found in streams and fields. Of these, the translucent and slightly transparent jelly stone from Tianhuang are the most valuable. The Tianhuang stones are further divided into golden-yellow, orange, and gold-covered silver brands. Among the Shoushan stones, White Lotus and Dulingjun varieties come from mountain pits. The top stone from water pits include Crystal Jelly and Fishhead Jelly, creamy-colored and translucent.

清初以后，寿山石以其色彩丰富的优势逐渐成为主要印材之一。由于寿山雕钮艺术发育较早，技艺成熟，加上石材色泽绚丽，故尤为人所喜爱。

After the early Qing, Shoushan stone, by virtue of its rich color variety, gradually became one of the main seal materials. Because the art of carving seal knobs from Shoushan stone was developed early, the technique and skills were mature, and because of its beautiful co1or and luster this stone was particularly loved by customers.
