黄蓝：与其费力思考不如用心感受

 “我常常控制不住大脑，它也总是管不了我。所以与其费劲思考不如用心感受，反正现象还是本质从来都是一个东西，而且准确的永远都是直觉。人一出生就有很多东西跟思考一样不可避免，吃饭，睡觉，拉屎，恋爱，当然还有死亡，都如此重要，不分贵贱，毕竟人类的所有行为都是来自求生的欲望，没有羞耻，没有性别，没有道德，面对这些首先坦诚一点认真的去做，然后对于赏赐还是惩罚受之无愧就好了，否则事先的严肃思考就显得虚伪荒诞。

如果说大脑真的是一只怪物，那我就让它健健康康地活着，只让它吃个不停总会撑死，也得让它拉个痛快。这么看来……我的作品应该就是大脑的排泄物吧。”

I often lose control over my brain, and my brain often fails to control me. Rather than thinking intensively, I prefer to feel with my heart, because phenomena and their essence can be only grasped through instinct. Actions like eating, sleeping, shitting, feeling love and experiencing death, are all equally important in life. These experiences all stem from the desire to live and characterize all human beings’ lives, regardless of gender and ethical system. The most important thing in life is to be honest with yourself, to be open to everything, both reward or punishment, otherwise life would become fake and absurd.

If my brain is a monster, then let it be. It will explode if it is fed up with too many things: defecation is needed sometimes. From this perspective, my work can be seen as excrement of my brain.

在经历了艺术科班教育后，黄蓝开始尝试去破坏和抛弃自己，随时准备好去重新认识和开始，希望能先成为一个有趣的人，再创作出有趣的作品。

After having completed classical art education, Huang Lan experienced a self-destructive period after which she recovered herself and was immediately ready for a new beginning to become an interesting person creating attracting artworks.

铁，黄铜，纸本，油彩，胶水，铅笔，水彩……在不断变化的材料与形式，此次展览的呈现了她五个系列的作品，她企图破坏一些习以为常的舒适感，从而建立另一种和谐状态。每个系列记录了她在不同时段的“破坏”历程，向观众呈现一本艺术家创作日历。

Using different materials spanning iron, brass, paper, oil paint, glue, pencil, watercolor, the exhibition presents five series of her artworks. Through her artistic creation, she undermines the usual perception of reality to establish another state of harmony. Each section of the exhibition displays the concept of “destruction” in different times and forms.

黄蓝将现实生活的购物车实物再创作，反映了艺术在商业环境下的一个戏虐；引导我们对艺术品定义的思考：究竟艺术品是独一无二的作品，还是重复制造的在商业市场中出售的物品？艺术品的定义是文化活动还是商业制造？

These shopping carts echo real shopping carts, reflecting the drama of art in our consumerist society. The work stimulates considerations about the definition of art: is the artwork a unique piece of art or a manufactured item produced in series for commercial purpose? Is art a cultural event or an industrial fabrication?

在这场《游戏：象棋》中，她将人体的器官作为棋子，邀请观众参与一场人跟人之间的游戏。我们每个人在社会中的就是运用自己的器官来与他人沟通。用手指触摸，用眼睛看，用耳朵听，用鼻子闻，用嘴说.....还有大脑和心脏来思考来感受，面对不同的人，遇到不同的情况，如何出棋？胜负的定夺法则交给了观众。黄蓝破坏传统的游戏规则，告诉观众：在社会中，也许根本没有固定的法则来定夺一场“象棋游戏”的输赢。

The artwork The Game: Chess, is composed by the most important human organs which function as chess. The work metaphorically invites the viewers to join the match. Each of us in our society uses organs to communicate: we touch with our fingers, we look with our eyes, we listen with our ears, we smell with our nose, we use our mouth to speak, we think with our brain and we feel with our heart. Playing chess is a metaphor of life: we face different people and different situations. It's the audience who interprets the rules of the game. Huang Lan challenges the traditional rules of the game: the artist suggests that in society there are no fix rules to determine who wins and who loses.

黄蓝是一个沉浸于工作的人，可以连续二十天不出门，用一把美工刀削出一堆手指，而她从未学过雕塑，由于总是割伤手指，引发了她做受伤的手指造型，在一年多的创作过程中，这些受伤的手指犹如一本日历记录下曾经的伤口。在手指的“破坏”与“复原”的轮回中，艺术家提醒我们要有勇气去记录自己的伤痛，坦然面对过去的痛苦，而不是掩盖和忘记。

Huang Lan is very dedicated to her work: she focuses on wood carving for twenty days in her studio although she did not study wood carving before. After the wood carving activity, she has injured fingers: after more than one year’s artistic activity, these injured fingers function as a record of the wounds. In the cycle of "destruction" and "restoration" of the fingers, the artist reminds us of the importance of recording our pain and face the agony of the past instead of hiding it.

在她的作品中“金色”成为主要色彩，黄蓝想改变人们对于金色的“粗暴”解读。金色被贴上的标签可能有光鲜、温暖、富贵、热闹之类，但不难发现她作品的气质跟金色是有冲突的，由金色入手，配合黑色营造出暧昧、悲伤、悬疑或者诡异的气氛。使得金色和黑色成为自己的两面镜子，互相丰富内涵，最终是一种复杂模糊的状态。

In her work, "Gold" become the primary color: Huang Lan wants to change people's "rough" interpretation of gold. Gold may be labeled as glamorous, warm, vibrant, and lively, but it is not difficult to find out that the charisma of the gold in her work conflicts with the original conception of gold. She starts with gold and works with black to create a sly, sad, suspenseful and strange atmosphere, which makes gold and black become two colors that enrich each other's connotations, and finally create a complex and fuzzy dimension.

《剧场》和《剧情片》两幅近期以戏剧为主题的创作，黄蓝通过细腻的笔法将两个脱离剧本的故事情节呈现给观众，邀请观众来猜测戏剧的前因后果。“一千个读者眼中有一千个哈姆雷特” 她尝试通过参观者的视角来讲述一千个不同故事，让作品更加 “有趣” 富有解读性。

In The Theatre and The Feature Movie, two recent works created with brushes, Huang Lan presents two stories inspired by a theatre piece. The artist eliminates key element and details of the original story and therefore invites the audience to guess the cause- effect relations and the end of the drama. "There are a thousand Hamlets for a thousand readers." She tries to tell a thousand different stories from the perspective of the visitors, making the work more “interesting” and open to different interpretations.

有趣原本就是一种无结果的状态，黄蓝找到了这种状态与艺术创作的契合点，让她的作品不断的生长出“有趣”的果子，等待观众的采摘与品味。

Interest is a state of inconsistency. Huang Lan finds a connection between this state and her artistic creation, and her work continues to breed "interesting" fruit, waiting for the audience to pick them and taste them.
