与其他波普艺术家一样，金载容的作品能迅速引起观众的本能反应。甜甜圈，作为我们生活中显而易见的符号，造型新颖，夺人眼球。当你进入展厅，面对它们，仿佛瞬间进入一家甜甜圈售卖店。一个美味的梦境就此展开。

随着梦境的深入，我们由此探寻更深层的喻义。不同的颜色、图案、点缀等，反映着艺术史和流行文化史的发展过程。

宝龙美术馆将于4月12日推出讲座《邦德咖啡·对话艺术：艺术家金载容谈艺术符号》，探讨甜甜圈的符号意义、与艺术史的关联。

关于讲座

金载容的作品汲取了杰克逊·波洛克的激情、吸收了草间弥生生发于灵魂深处的圆点符号，也可视作向以“现成品艺术”享誉盛名的雕塑大师克拉斯·奥尔登堡致敬。当艺术家用甜甜圈讲述一个关于艺术演化的故事，他也同时带来了消费主义时代里我们每个人身边的故事。 

自2012年在纽约个展上展出第一个甜甜圈陶瓷雕塑以来，金载容生发出不同形式、不同形状的甜甜圈——这恰似艺术家使用不同类型的画布探索绘画技法和色彩。金载容使用釉彩、施华洛世奇水晶，这些尝试也反映了艺术史的推演。

金载容说：“甜甜圈作为流行艺术品能承载丰富的历史感，也是对美国当代艺术、特别是波普艺术的反映。我在某些艺术家身上找到力量，以此创造出你们现今见到的甜甜圈艺术品，同时也为绘画和雕塑的结合打下新的基础。” 

每个甜甜圈都具有独特的吸引力和对话性，并以此抛出了一个有意思的话题：在这些作品前，我们是在视觉消费甜甜圈？甜甜圈艺术品？还是整个艺术世界？

About the lecture

In Jae Kong Kim’s donut artworks lie Jackson Pollock’s passion, Yayoi Kusama’s dots, and a tribute to the master of ready-made art, Claes Oldenburg. Using the simple vehicle of donut, the artists tell a story of art history and of everyone in the age of consumerism.

Since launching the first ceramic donut installation in his New York solo exhibition in 2012, Jae Kong Kim has made donuts of diverse sizes and shapes. This is comparable to painters exploring different techniques and colors on canvas. His use of glaze and Swarovski crystals also echoes the evolution of art.

Kim states, “Donut groups indicating popular artworks show a rich sense of history and are an observation of American contemporary art, especially Pop art. Finding the strength within certain artists and developing them into donut artworks establishes a new ground for sculpture studied through painting.”

Each unique sculpture has a clear and concise conversation loaded with its own attraction and dailogue, begging the question “is the viewer visually consuming a donut, an artwork, or the art world at large?”
