德国当代艺术家卡佳·施特龙茨生于1970年，现工作并生活于柏林。1993年于德国卡尔斯鲁厄的国立美术学院毕业后，她曾在多家大学与艺术院校任教，并获得了包括 “Vattenfall当代艺术奖”等诸多奖项。

卡佳·施特龙茨的纸浆绘画， 装置和雕塑实践根植于构成主义和前卫艺术，艺术家通过可循环材料的使用中，将对回溯着自身的生活经历转换到作品的时空建构中。为了对构成主义所展现的结构展开进一步探索—同时反映在观念的总体性和物件的现实感上，艺术家就制作出的坠落与折叠的形式感的雕塑和纸上作品进行对空间进行延展与收缩， 从而与过去建立一种平衡关系。

卡佳·施特龙茨的纸浆绘画（Pulp Painting)，借用中国传统的造纸技术， 将马尼拉麻和桑木屑混合的纸浆与由回收的底布和衣服染制而成（二手的，每一件都拥有自身的历史）的颜色融合把空间、时间和历史感浓缩于一体。 从而， 作品在运动的展开中捕捉到了那一独一无二的瞬间。

卡佳·施特龙茨的作品在欧洲以及国际上广泛展出， 艺术家近期的个展包括，“直觉的形式”，科洛巴斯画廊，维也纳；“卡佳·施特龙茨（身份证形象）”， 当代艺术画廊，柏林；“过去的现在”， 安德森当代；哥本哈根。近期重要群展包括，“空间介入，Gordon MattaClark以及其他”，达尔曼沙龙，柏林； “扩大领域”，宁斐斯项目空间，柏林；“诗学的迫切性”， 第三十届圣保罗双年展等。

Katja Strunz, born in 1970, is a German contemporary artist based in Berlin. Upon graduated from the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenen Künste Karlsruhe in 1993, she held teaching positions in a number of universities and art academies in Germany. Strunz has been the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including theVattenfall Contemporary Award in 2013.

Katja Strunz’ practice of pulp painting, installation and sculptures is rooted in the constructivist and the avant-garde, while the artist addresses her life experience through recycled materials into these spatial and temporal structures. With the interest to explore the unfolding structures in constructivism, where both the conceptual totality and the realism of the objects are present, Strunz expands and contrasts space by creating falling and folding forms in order to solicit a relationship to the past.  

Pulp painting, a technique Strunz has developed for her work, borrows from techniques applied in traditional Chinese papermaking. The ground pulp paper consists of Manila hemp and mulberry is mixed with colors extracted from the recycled and ground fabric and clothing (second-hand, each piece with a past), a process in which space, time and history are condensed on paper. Hence, the artist’s works encapsulate the unfolding movement.  

Katja Strunz’ works are widely exhibited internationally, which have been the subject of solo exhibitions including, “Intuition of Form”, Galerie Krobath, Vienna; Katja Strunz (ID Appearance), Contemporary Fine Arts, Berlin; Present Pasts, Andersen's Contemporary, Kopenhagen. Her works participated in groups exhibitions including, “Space Interventions. Gordon Matta Clark and Beyond”, Salon Dahlmann, Berlin; “Expanded Fields”, Nymphius Projekte, Berlin; “The Imminence of Poetics”, 30th S?o Paulo Biennial, S?o Paulo and etc.
