Julian Rosefeldt, born in Munich, Germany in 1965, works as a Berlin-based German artist and filmmaker.
Rosefeldt obtains international prestige and reputation owing to his panoramic multi-channel film and video installations featuring elaborate design and excellent craft. His installations are splendid and opulent in visual effects and range from documentary to theatrical narrativein themes. The works of Julian Rosefeldt are frequently displayed internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions of many museums, such as Ecole des Beaux Arts (Paris, 2017), Park Avenue Armory (New York, 2016), Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart (Berlin, 2016), Art Gallery of New South Wales (Sydney, 2016), ACMI – Australian Centre for the Moving Image (Melbourne, 2015). His works are also in the collections of many well-known institutions including The Museum of Modern Art (New York), Nationalgalerie (Berlin), Hoffmann Collection (Berlin).
