陌上实验荣幸的宣布，我们将于2017年5月20日在密道空间举办艺术家群展《铁托的肖像》。本次展览以艺术家委约创作的方式，为您呈现四组与前南斯拉夫总统铁托有关的作品。这些作品分享了关于铁托的想象，它们远离真实并在此相遇。展览由青年策展人李泊岩策划，展期将持续至6月2日。

MoShang Experiment is announcing with honor the artist group Exhibition <Portraits of Tito>will be presented on May 20th, 2017.This exhibition Sculptures of Tito has commissioned four artists to create worksrelated to the historical figure. Sharing the theme of Tito, these portraits encounter each other here, farremoved from the real. Curated by young curator Li Boyan, the exhibition will be on till June 2nd.

前言

假如说，策展的革命性突破是从专注展览的结果，改变为玩味展览的过程，策展人从一开始就不是一个诚实的人。展览的本质是一个虚无的景观，这与旅游业的景点所构建的消费景观不谋而合。很多知名景点，其实本身没什么可看的，比如柏林墙、哭墙，你若感动或者感到震撼，说明你的知识在刺激你，你的想象力在驱使你。

景观的虚无还在于某种传播上，不止一次听说，布拉格广场并没有许愿池，歌曲中的唱段也只是浪漫效果的假想而已。中国的寺院和道观倒是有很多许愿池，里面常常是铺满一角到一元的硬币。当然，也曾听说有许多寺院和道观本身就是假的，无非是骗了人去了收些祈福的香火钱。假象造就了景观的伟大。

点到为止，展览《铁托的肖像》以邀约艺术家的方式，定制了四组与铁托有关的作品进行呈现，策展人依托位于“陌上实验”地下的一处防空洞为载体，虚构了中国历史上曾出现“铁托兴趣小组”的故事，并告诉艺术家。四件作品从四个角度回应了这一编造。高宇从自己去过的“铁托大街”出发进行再一次探访，民间画家王珍风根据策展人的指示绘制了一幅铁托肖像，张巍延续自己的创作脉络制作了一件标志性的合成人像，张业鸿则凭着自己感觉为历史上的照片配以文字。这些作品分享了关于铁托的想象，这些肖像远离真实并在此相遇。

If curatingis a revolutionary endeavor that turns one’s focus on the exhibition’s result to playing with the exhibition, then the curator is, fromthe very outset, not an honest person. The essence of an exhibition is but afutile spectacle—not unlike the consumerist spectacles that tourist landmarks conjure. Many famous tourist attractions are not really enticing in their own right; take the Berlin Wall or the Western Wall as an example, if you are moved or experience a senseof shock from it, it only means you are excited by your knowledge, or driven by your imagination.

The futility of spectacles is also rooted in their particular mode of dissemination: one may have heard more than once that there is no wishing well in Prague, and the lyricsof that song from the early 200s which have popularized this misconception are only the result of some romantic imagination. Mean while in many temples and monasteries in China,one can find plenty of wishing wells, with their floors often covered with one-RMBcoins. Of course, one may have also heard that many of these temples and monasteries are mere imitations built to trick people into spending money onjoss sticks and donations. The grandeur of a spectacle lies in its appearance.

In short,the exhibition Sculptures of Tito has commissioned four artists to create worksrelated to the historical figure; taking the bomb shelter located underneath Mo Shang Experiment as host, the curator fabricated the story about a“Tito’s Fan Club” that existed in Chinese history, and informed the artists about it. The four works thatensued are responses to this fabrication from four distinct points of view. GaoYu revisited a street named after Tito, from which he drew inspirations; folkpainter Wang Zhenfeng has produced a sculpture of Tito based on the curator’s instructions. Marching along his creative trajectory,Zhang Wei has created a synthesized portrait in his signature style, while Zhang Yehong pairs historical photographs with texts following his intuition.Sharing the theme of Tito, these portraits encounter each other here, farremoved from the real.

王珍风, 原为无名村妇，爱好绘画，尤善桃花。2016年因在互联网引发“王珍凤PK周春芽”热点事件，引起了艺术界的关注，及公众对中国当代艺术的价值争议和信任危机。

张巍 (b.1977)，现生活工作于北京。曾获得2016保诚亚洲当代艺术奖提名，2013色影无忌中国年度新锐摄影师大奖，同年入选中国摄影年度排行榜，2011获得TOP20·中国当代摄影新锐奖， 2010获得 Global Times2010国际风尚年度新锐艺术家大奖，2009获得亚洲主权艺术奖提名奖，同年获得丽水国际摄影大奖 。主要个展有2015“Artificial Theater”瑞士ART & PUBLIC+日内瓦摄影中心。主要群展有纽约AIPAD国际摄影展，釜山国际当代艺术展， 韩国大邱国际摄影双年展，连州国际摄影年展，三影堂首届实验影像展，北京国际摄影双年展，土耳其伊斯坦布交流展，55届威尼斯双年展平行展，德国鲁尔双年展，广州国际摄影双年展等。作品曾被纽约时报TheNew York Times，多伦多星报，瑞士时报（Le Temps），德国明镜周刊Spiegel.de，美国WIRED，法国电视新闻 “francetvinfo”等重要媒体报道。

Gao Yu (b.1988) is an artist as well as a doctoral student in Theory of Literatureand Art at Nankai  University.He went to Bauhaus University-Weimarand studied in the MFA program “Public Art and New Artistic Strategies”. He got the MFA degree in 2014. In 2011 he studies in department of Visual Communication, Nankai Universityand got BA degree. He is now living and working in Tianjin. Wang Zhenfeng, She used to be an ordinary rural woman who enjoy painting, especially peach blossom. In 2016, she started a hot event called “Wang Zhenfeng PK ZhouChunya”, which draws attention from the art circle and triggers valuecontroversy and trust crisis from the public of China’s contemporary art.

Zhang Wei (b.1977) is now living and working in Beijing. In 2016 he was nominated by Prudential Eye Awards Contemporary Asian Art. In 2013 he won the prize of NewFoto Award of China and, in the same year he was also selected in the Photography Annual Ranking.In 2011 he won the prize of The Top 20 of China and one year earlier the prizeof The Global Times 2010 Artists Award Of The Year. In 2009 he was nominated by Sovereign Asian Art Prize and, in the same year won the prize of Lishui Photography Festival Award. His major solo exhibitions include: “Artificial Theater“， Art & Public Cabinet PH,Geneva, Switzerland and Centre de la Photographie (2015 ). His major group exhibitions are:  the Photography Show Presented By AIPAD，New York; Art Busan，JINHAI ART MUSEUM, Korea; Staging Encounters - Lianzhou FotoFestival; Three Shadows Photography Art Centre First Experimental Image Exhibition; Beijing International Photography Biennale; Turkey Istanbul Exchange Exhibition; The 55th Venice Biennale Exhibition In Parallel; The German Ruhr Biennale. Zhang Yehong (b.1993) works and lives in Hangzhou. In 2015 he graduated from Chinese  Academy of Art and got his Bachelor's degree. 李泊岩（b.1984），独立策展人。2006年毕业于天津美术学院中国画系。2012年创办非营利艺术机构再生空间计划。主要策展有“ISBN: 9787214056061”（2016）、“三高”（2015）“基层劳动”（2015）、“到灯塔去”（2014）、“从何而来”（2014）等。

Li Boyan (b.1984), independent curator. He graduated from Department of Traditional Chinese Painting, Tianjin Academy of Fine Art in 2006. In the year 2012 hefounded the nonprofit art institute Space Regeneration Project.The main exhibitions are "ISBN: 9787214056061" (2016), "Trio"(2015), "Fundamental Labor " (2015), "going to the Lighthouse" (2014), "WHERE ART THOU FROM " (2014) and so on.

陌上实验是陌上画廊支持的非营利性实验艺术空间，位于798艺术区，拥有独立的展示场域。其致力于维护当代艺术实践的前卫性与纯洁性，鼓励不断开拓艺术定义的新疆界。并通过与国际范围内独立艺术空间的紧密交流与合作，构建独立艺术项目矩阵。激励、扶持、推介具有独立意志和实验精神的新锐艺术家与策展人。

Located in 798 artdistrict, MoShang Experiment is a non-profit experimental art space with independent exhibition area sponsored by Moshang gallery.  It is resolved top rotect the vanguardism and purity of contemporary art practice and encourage to explore new horizonof art definition. Moreover, by promotingglobal communication and cooperation between independent art spaces, it initiates independent art projects matrix,encouraging, sponsoring and recommending promising artists and curators with independent and experiment alspirits.
