


南京本地的青年艺术家许力炜和薛问问在白马村的一座废弃民居内展开驻地创作。这座民居由一间主室、两间侧室组成,位于村落废墟和景点工地之间。主室和左侧室墙壁上,还留下了四幅壁画,描绘了附近山水、瀑布、迎客松、仙鹤等,将对联、边框、挂画的绳子也一同画出。民居虽然荒废已久,却仍不时会有附近工地的民工来短住,留下了砖块、晾衣绳这样生活与劳动的痕迹。?
Local young artists Xu Liwei and Xue Wenwen carried out their residency program in an abandoned house in Baima Village. This is a residential place with one main room and two side rooms sitting between remains of villages and sightseeing spots. On the walls of the main room and the left side room, there are four wall paintings that depict surrounding mountains, waterfalls, pines, cranes and etc.. The frames of the paintings, couplets, and the strings are all drawn on the walls as well. Some workers from construction sites nearby come for a short-term rent from time to time although the house has been abandoned for years, which left some traces to show their life and work, such as bricks and clotheslines.



许力炜对主室内三幅壁画进行考据、题咏,像在书上做批注般将文字和图解直接题写在墙壁上。其内容涉及装裱样式、景物考证、绘画风格与技法品评、图像阐释,以及笺注过程中的游离联想。这是对中国传统文人“述而不作”的工作方法的承接,以退守的姿态凸显农民壁画本身的内涵,同时又含有对“内涵”的幽默解构。?
Xu Liwei did textual researches on the three murals in the main room and expressed his own feelings by writing commentaries on the wall like what usually could be seen in books. He also wrote about the framing pattern, scenery fact check, painting techniques and styles, interpretation of the images and his associations connected and unconnected with this project. This is an undertake and extend of traditional Chinese literati's “only narrative but no creative” method. Standing in a retreating pose is to show the essence of peasants’ murals and to deconstruct it in a humorous way.



虫洞

薛问问选择在左侧室以贯穿整个空间的镜面条带去模拟一处通向“破碎虚空”的裂缝,名为“虫洞”,也就是天体物理学上联结两个时空的通道。壁画外下的生活剩余物,将空间赋予了伦理与政治色彩。这类空间最容易发生带有科幻色彩的温情幻想:穿越回过去,看到这个空间正在被居住者使用的状态。
Xue Wenwen chose the left side room and created a flat-stripped mirror installation among the scattered remnants, named “Wormhole”, the shortcut connecting two separate joints in spacetime in astrophysics. The left groceries around murals colour the space ethically and politically, and it is easy to fantasize about a science fiction in this kind of space by time traveling back to see the real simultaneous situation.
