继“编辑景观:媒介化之后的个体与工作方式”大型群展(2015)之后,蜂巢当代艺术中心再度推出以1980年后出生的一代艺术家作为考察对象的系列项目“作为窄门的绘画:80后艺术家邀请展”,邀请三十位年轻艺术家参展:蔡磊、陈飞、陈朗慕、高露迪、龚辰宇、顾亮、郝量、侯虹旭、季鑫、简策、鞠婷、冷广敏、李平、李青、李文光、陆超、吕松、倪有鱼、钱佳华、宋朋、宋易格、王一、夏禹、肖旭、闫珩、杨伯都、臧坤坤、翟倞、赵新宇、周思维(按姓氏拼音排列),并特别邀请鲍栋、戴卓群、鲁明军、卢迎华、夏季风、朱朱六位艺术策展人、评论家为参展艺术家撰文评述。展览由夏季风担纲策划,将于2016年8月26日以蜂巢当代艺术中心全展厅规模推出,并展出至9月24日。 ? 蜂巢当代艺术中心曾于2015年推出“编辑景观:媒介化之后的个体与工作方式”大型群展,意欲呈现在当代艺术开放性的框架内,尤其是在观念艺术和新媒体得以普遍运用之后,年轻一代艺术家创作的多重走向;本次推出的“作为窄门的绘画:80后艺术家邀请展”则针对这个群体,试图系统性梳理以绘画作为主要创作手段的部分艺术家现状。 本篇中将介绍的季鑫、宋易格、杨伯都三位艺术家都捡拾、挪用了一些古典元素或古典的形式,而这些元素或形式被他们各自赋予了不同的观念或象征意义。季鑫(b.1988)将不同风趣的事物并置于一个画面,古典成为他表达个人倾诉的语法工具,在季鑫的画中,可以看到丢勒及伦勃朗式的人物以及他所引荐的具有强烈象征意味的事物,还有诸如民国时期中国所谓的美人画的影子。宋易格(b.1980)的画面没有题材的限制,其中物理关系、空间结构植根于自我的经验和记忆,及其中非常态的一面。杨伯都时常使用不定的线、颜色和图像,打乱画面内空间的透视感,并以此继续探究绘画的本质,她希望画面营造出一种正式感和严肃性,以及由此形成观众与画面的心理距离。 |

在季鑫的画中,丢勒以及伦勃朗式的人物以及他在画面中所引荐的具有强烈象征意味的事物,是观看其作品的第一印象。似乎是季鑫的个人趣味使然,在他的作品当中也可以看到诸如民国时期中国所谓的美人画的影子。将不同风趣的事物并置于一个画面,那么可以说古典只是季鑫表达其个人倾诉的语法工具,而并非是完全意义上古典性质的绘画。似乎是在玩一个关涉与此的游戏,于是一个绘画式的舞台剧就此上演,嘴巴里含着花朵的木偶式人像和笼子里的鸟,包括天使诸子使臣都有了其可合理释义的空间。但这些画作中的事物并非是为了剧场当中的观者而摆设姿态,而更像是一个空旷的后台,这些事物根据画面中暗示的镜子来排练自己的角色设定,确并非有上场的打算。画面中人物面部的妆容在印象上是民国所谓的招贴美人画,但其所散发出的气质却是西方式的,画面风格之阴郁则与其主题的选择以及画面中物象的象征意味亦甚为相关。而且应当注意到的是,季鑫对于其主题当中的人物面部尤其是眼睛和嘴巴的关注,超出画面本身,于观者而言,可以衍射出视觉和味觉以及触觉的通感效应,这一点是值得关注的。

COMMENTS from Xia Jifeng?
The first impression one gets from Ji Xin’s paintings is the figures that would remind you of Dürer or Rembrandt and the strongly symbolic things he introduces through the images. Owing to his personal interest, perhaps, Ji’s works also give a faint impression of the so-called beauty painting in China’s Republic an period. Considering that he juxtaposes things of different flavors in a single painting, it’s fair to say that “classical” is just Ji’s grammatical tool toexpress his own feelings, but doesn’t entirely refer to painting with classical characteristics. He seems to be playing a game related to this, so a paintingplay is put on stage, giving room for reasonable explanation to the puppet-look figure with a flower in mouth, the caged bird, and even to the angels, the philosophers and the envoys. But in these paintings, things are not posing for the audience in the theater; it’s more like they are rehearsing their roles infront of an assumed mirror in a spacious backstage, with no intention of going on the stage. The makeup style of the faces in Ji’s works may remind one of theso-called beauty painting posters in China’s Republican period, but the temperament of the figures is Western, and the depressed image style also has much to do with Ji’s choice of themes and the symbolisms of the objects painted. Besides, what’s notable is that Ji Xin pays more attention to his figure’s face, especially eyes and mouth, than to the overall image, and forthe audience, such attention can diffract a synaes the ticeffect involving the senses of sight, taste and touch.

我不知道宋易格的绘画是否与超现实主义有关,然而,她所编织的这些图像与语词对准的与其说是观者的眼睛,不如说是自我的心理。或者说,是一个人内心与目光之间的距离、错位、恍惚,及不确定感。宋易格的画面没有题材的限制,但所有的物理关系、空间结构都植根于自我的经验和记忆,及其中非常态的一面。灰色的基调,和无来由、“碎碎念”式的图像组合,常常将我们定格在一种欲言又止的忧郁和疏离的界面。也许,她是不愿意或是不敢敞开自己,但又找不到一个恰当的出口,而绘画则成了这一“为难”的表征。

I am not certain if Song Yige’s painting is related to Surrealism,but the images and phrases she weaves aimed more at a person’s mind than viewers’eyes, or should I say, at the distance, malposition, absent-mindedness and uncertainty between one’s innermost being and vision. Song Yige’s images show no limitation on subject matters, but all the physical relations and spatialstructures are rooted in self experience and memories and their abnormal aspects. The gray key note and the unfounded as well as “murmuring” imagecombinations often place us in a hesitant melancholy and alienated interface.Maybe she’s unwilling or afraid to open herself, and unable to find an appropriate outlet, so painting has become a representation of such “embarrassment”.

杨伯都在绘画中建构了一系列理性的场景,这在很大程度上得益于她对于画面整体性的重视,和在下笔之前的总体规划。自2007年起,艺术家就开始在自己的画中引用艺术作品,摸索如何把他人的画作以正确的透视放进他自己的构图中。他希望画面营造出一种正式感和严肃性,以及由此形成观众与画面的心理距离。这一目标通过一系列以描绘美术馆内部,及其陈设的作品为内容的画作而达到。渐渐地,杨伯都开始将其所描绘的空间里的原始画作进行删减,在自己的画面里主宰起现实的展览空间,甚至将展厅中呈现的作品替换为他所希望出现的作品。

在绘画中,杨伯都不仅按照自己的意愿重新规划空间,并置换美术馆中所陈列的作品,她还开始重新处理与想象时间的序列。她的另一组绘画以电影场景为内容,不受电影情节的走向所左右,按照自己的感受将打动自己的一幕用绘画表现出来,不分主次,使一切都有可能被凝固在其清新的画面之中。

Yang Bodu has constructed a series of rational scenes in her paintings, which is mostly attributed to her concerns for the wholeness of the painting and to her overall planning before she picks up a brush. Since 2007, the artist has begun to quote others’ artworks in her paintings, and to explore how to put them into her own composition with proper perspective. She wants her images to offer a sense of formality and seriousness, so as to form the psychological distance between the audience and the image. This goal is achieved through a series of paintings that depict the interior and the exhibits of art museums. Gradually, Yang started to subtract the quoted paintings in the space she depicts, and in her own image she gains the control over the real exhibition space, and even substitutes the exhibits for the works she wants to display.

In painting, Yang not only re-plans the space as she wishes, and displaces the exhibits in the art museum, but has also begun to deal with and picture the sequences of time. Another series of her paintings ismainly based on movie scenes, without being affected by the development of the plots, and by painting she exerts the scenes that really touched her as what she feels, regardless of priority or not, so that all can be solidified in her refreshing paintings.
