山中美术馆｜郑波：稊地

“山中美术馆”是四方当代美术馆的长期在地项目“地形学”的第二回。这一次,我们将目光投向美术馆自身与其所在山区-老山山脉的历史与现实, 并讨论这一场所中人与物的境遇。参加本次展览的 20 位艺术家,全部以委托制作的形式,将作品散布在美术馆展厅、湖区、工地、荒野、遗址及山林间,从完全迥异的物理或精神空间出发,给出对这座“山中美术馆”的不同认知。?

艺术家将正遭受城市化洗礼的山间野草移栽至美术馆屋顶，最终让此区域成为数十种野草的永久栖息地，以纪念这段开发/ 消逝的历史。移植的植物包括：雪见草、小飞蓬、商陆、车前草、黄蒿、益母草、菊花脑、泽漆、辣蓼、藜、小蓟、泥胡菜、苣荬菜、阔叶麦冬、兔儿伞、鸢尾、波斯菊、细叶芒草、黑麦草、蛇床及苦蒿等。作品亦将自然力量引入美术馆，拓宽机构的边界。

Through a baptismal ceremony ridding the weeds of their urbanized essence, Zheng Bo carefully

transplanted mountain weeds on to the roof of the museum. The roof will eventually become the

permanent habitat for these weeds, as they grow and stretch to every edge and corner, commemorating the development and elapse of history. The transplanted weeds include the following: salvia plebeian, conyza Canadensis, phytolacca acinosa, plantago depressa, artemisia annua, leonurus Artemisia, dendranthema indicum, euphorbia helioscopia, polygonum hydropiper, chenopodium album, cirsium setosum, sonchus arvensis, liriope platyphylla, yneilesis aconitifolia, iris tectorum, cosmos bipinnata, achnatherum pekinense, lolium perenne, cnidium monnieri, artemisia kanashiroi, etc. The work will also introduce a natural force to themuseum, broadening the organization's boundaries.

郑波长期专注于社会性艺术的创作与研究，多从边缘人群与边缘植物的视角切入历史与现实。对野草的研究与种植更是他近年来创作的重要线索。野草这一对象涉及到的权力史的细节及个体在这些细节中的境况，在不同的场所也将生发出全然不同的内涵。

Zheng Bo has been concentrating on creation and research of social artistry for years. He tends to view history and reality from the angles of marginalized groups and plants, and to follow studies on mountain weeds, which reflects its intension differently with changes of places since it involves in the details of history of authority and individual differences upon those details, as an important clue for his act of art creating in the last a few years.

郑波在参加“山中美术馆”考察期间，对老山区域正处于高速开发中的现实处境留下深刻印象。当推土机将大片原生环境铲平之际，似乎仅有这些残存的野草可以些许纪念这段历史。每一株野草被予以重新审视之时，历史就能逐渐在人们的视野中展开。于是他决定利用美术馆原有的一楼屋顶草坪，将正被逐渐破坏的路边野草移植到美术馆屋顶。2016年4月30日，郑波实施了作品《稊地》的第一部分：“迁礼”。他邀请美术馆的工作人员一同前往园区附近荒地对野草进行移栽、种出了一楼屋顶上的第一片稊地，并每人朗诵一首与野草相关的诗歌，作为整个作品开端的仪式。

During his study for “Mountain Sites: Views of Laoshan”, Zheng Bo was deeply impressed by the present high-speed development of that area. Mountain seeds there seem to be the only witnesses when the original wild environment was shoveled by bulldozer, and each of them will be re-examined so that history will expand in front of people little by little. That is also why the artist decided to transplant the seeds to the lawn on the roof of Sifang Art Museum. The first part of the project “Housewarming Party” was conducted by Zheng Bo, together with staff invited from the museum on April 30th, 2016. Except for transplanting, poetry reading was held as well at the opening of the whole project.

郑波长期专注于社会性艺术的创作与研究，多从边缘人群与边缘植物的视角切入历史与现实。2013年创作的《住在上海的植物》包括位于上海西岸的一个野草植物园和一门与生态、文学等多学科学者合作开设的网络课程；2014年的《植物占领深圳》带领观众从美术馆周边的植物形态探查城市演变的轨迹；2015年的《Weed Party》检视植物在不同历史时期所扮演的角色，揭示政治对植物的依赖。他拥有美国罗杰斯特大学视觉文化研究博士学位，现在香港城市大学创意媒体学院任教。

Committed to socially engaged art through practice and research, ZHENG Bo investigates the past and the present from the perspective of marginalized communities and marginalized plants. His recent projects include Plants Living in Shanghai (2013, a found botanical garden and an online course co-produced with scholars in ecology, literature, and cultural studies), Plants Occupy Shenzhen (2014, a guided tour of plant habitats around OCT Contemporary Art Terminal revealing Shenzhen’s urban history), and Weed Party (2015, an inquiry into the role of plants in the history of the Chinese Communist Party). He received his PhD in Visual & Cultural Studies at the University of Rochester, and teaches at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.?
