山中美术馆| 于吉：练习曲－慢板乐章Ⅲ

“山中美术馆”是四方当代美术馆的长期在地项目“地形学”的第二回。这一次,我们将目光投向美术馆自身与其所在山区-老山山脉的历史与现实, 并讨论这一场所中人与物的境遇。参加本次展览的 20 位艺术家,全部以委托制作的形式,将作品散布在美术馆展厅、湖区、工地、荒野、遗址及山林间,从完全迥异的物理或精神空间出发,给出对这座“山中美术馆”的不同认知。?
行为、装置，树、铁丝、松香、树脂 |?Performance, installation (tree, iron wire, colophony, resin)上海艺术家于吉近阶段的创作由雕塑出发，关注自然介质、地景与劳作，通过身体力行的方式进行田野考察及在地项目实践，而“山”正是她近年创作中面对的主题。作品《练习曲－慢板 乐章Ⅲ》中，于吉把工作现场挪至户外高空，光天化日下，虫鸣鸟叫，高强度工作正在一天天透支创作者的体力，这是一个独立的内观过程。本次于吉再次使用了在个展《黑山》中尝试过的松香这种极脆弱又难以控制的天然材料，但不会再是未完成状态的展厅作品，而是实施于四方当代艺术湖区内一棵朴树上的户外装置。于吉面对天气、温度、攀爬、蚊虫等种种户外挑战，每日以爬树制作的方式展开工作。又因松香需要加热又极易冷却的特性，她每次只能加热少量松香携带上树，用完后再下树加热、多次重复。于吉的创作围绕着心智与身体的劳动经验而发展，其作品不单单只作为独立的物件存在，更浓缩了身体劳动过程所蓄积的痕迹与力量，将抽象的意念与经验过程凝聚为可见的实体。本次作品依然被强调为一个持续的过程，于吉在开幕时也会在树上展示她的劳动现场。
Shanghai artist Yu Ji’s latest creation, starting from sculpturing, focuses on natural mediums, landscapes, and labour, all of which were realized through physical practice via field visits and the artist’s residency program, in which at this time happens in Laoshan Mountain while by chance consistent with her theme of creating in recent years. For the outdoor piece “Etude-Lento III”, Yu Ji moved her workspace outdoors, where in broad daylight among insects and birds, her high-intensity daily work culminated in an independent introspective process. Colophony, extremely fragile and uncontrollable, has been used for a second time in this work, on which the artist first gave a try during her last solo exhibition “Black Mountain”. The difference between the two works is that colophony will be found in an outdoor installation on a Chinese hackberry tree in the lake exhibition area, from an unfinished state in the last exhibition. Faced with ?challenges of working outdoors, for instance, weather, temperature, climbing, insects and etc., she insisted on climbing and installing all by herself. Because of colophony’s characteristics of demanding heating and easily getting cooled down, she could only carry a limited amount each time, resulting in repeatedly climbing up and down and heating procedures This creation is centered by and developed with mental and physical laboring experience, which makes it not only an independent material existence, but a solid concentration of traces from physical work and strengths, turning abstract willpower and experience to seeable work. Yu Ji will be showing the work site herself on the tree during the opening ceremony since continuation is greatly valued and emphasized as a key feature of “Etude-Lento III”.
于吉作品《练习曲－慢板 乐章Ⅲ》位于B湖区户外展区她的创作以雕塑和装置为主，亦涉及行为及影像。于吉的作品大多关注自然、关注人类的重复劳动过程，探讨时间与自然之间的关系，寻找身体、精神与这个世界，这片大地之间重要且神秘的联系。对于于吉来说，制作作品本身就是一种体悟艺术、挖掘艺术与自我关系的过程。艺术家不仅是她的一项职业，更是一种把事物转化为生活的身体经验。除了艺术家的身份，从2008年开始她与朋友在上海创建了独立艺术空间——上午艺术空间，目前是上海少有的活跃的非盈利实验艺术场。Born in Shanghai, graduated from Sculpture Department, Fine Arts College of Shanghai University in 2011 with a MFA degree. She now lives and works in the same city where she was born and raised up. Her practice mainly deals with sculptures and installations, and also involves performance and videos. Paying much attention to nature and the repetitive process of labor, her work endeavors to explore the relationship between time and nature, looking at the vital yet mysterious connection between body/spirit and the world.
