“山中美术馆”是四方当代美术馆的长期在地项目“地形学”的第二回。这一次,我们将目光投向美术馆自身与其所在山区-老山山脉的历史与现实, 并讨论这一场所中人与物的境遇。参加本次展览的 20 位艺术家,全部以委托制作的形式,将作品散布在美术馆展厅、湖区、工地、荒野、遗址及山林间,从完全迥异的物理或精神空间出发,给出对这座“山中美术馆”的不同认知。?

金陵龚贤，字半千，明末清初人，经朝代更迭，历人事悲欢聚散，仍修出独辟画风，数百年不衰，日观益新，启发后学。今得一半千金陵风景书册，民国影印，清透自然，每日翻阅，爱不释手。忽一日，偶发异想，于城内外寻其所绘实景，可睹物思人，以抒怀古意。数日奔走，携书册一一对照，却发显奇闻。半千先生何以超然于四百年变迁，于清凉山至老山，踏足长江南北？真是奇哉怪哉！

Gong Xian (1618 – 1689, courtesy name Banqian) was a Nanjing painter during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. He lived during the turbulent times of a changing dynastic rule and created his unique painting style that is still known today. By chance, Hao Liang received a reprint of Banqian’s Nanjing scenic paintings in album form, which he loved greatly. One day, he suddenly thought to go to Nanjing to rediscover the scenes depicted in the album. He spent several days wandering between various sceneries, matching the album’s depictions with the real life locales, discovering something strange along the way. How exactly did Banqian transcend across 400 years of time, from Qinliang Mountain to Laoshan Mountain, leaping from the Yangtze River’s south bank to the north bank? It’s truly magical !

郝量是中国当代水墨的代表人物，他一直探索当代中国传统文化所处的现实境遇，并试图去寻找中国传统文化与现实社会的契合点。他坚持使用绢本进行创作，运用符号化、隐喻式的艺术语言，去讨论当代人与传统文化之间若隐若现的关系。藉于此，《龚半千四百一七》，既是艺术家对“山中美术馆”这一讨论空间在历史与现实中的处境的主题的回应，也是以历史与现实反观自身的方法。通过现实的老山景致去替换龚贤在三百余年前描绘的金陵山色，艺术家和大家开了一个玩笑，而这玩笑一方面既是对古代传统的深情回望，也是对此时此地金陵文脉的现实体认。
