杨振中持续创作二十年的影像项目《我会死的》即将参与由Tatjana Gürbaca执导、作曲家Aribert Reimann的歌剧新作《The Invisible》，剧作将在德国布伦瑞克最古老的剧院Staatstheater Braunschweig上演。届时，观众将会剧院门厅和舞台背景的大屏幕上，看到来自世界各地的，无论何种语言、信仰或国籍的人们讲述同一句真理：“我会死的”。

"I Will Die", Yang Zhenzhong’s 20 year ongoing video project will be part of Tatjana Gürbaca’s production of Aribert Reimann’s latest opera "The Invisible" at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. On screens in the foyer and on stage, people from all over the world, no matter what language, belief, or nationality will be seen saying the truth: I will die.

The Invisible

《The Invisible》根据比利时象征派戏剧代表人物莫里斯·梅特林克（Maurice Maeterlinc）的三篇创作改编而成。三篇文字的主题均围绕着死亡这个人类不可避免的事实以及人们面对死亡的无助。《The Invisible》于2017年在柏林德意志歌剧院（Deutsche Oper Berlin）首演，此次是其第二次被搬上舞台。

"L’Invisible" is based on three texts from Belgian symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck which are variations on the themes of the inescapable fact of death and people’s helplessness when faced with it. "L’Invisible" was premiered at Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2017. This is its second staging.

Aribert Reimann is one of the most important contemporary composers in Germany.

Tatjana Gürbaca是RING Award得主，其指导的戏剧曾在德国以及瑞士、比利时各大重要歌剧院上演。

Tatjana Gürbaca is winner of the RING Award, has directed production in many of the major opera houses in Germany aswell as Switzerland and Belgium.

歌剧院 Staatstheater Braunschweig

布伦瑞克国立剧院是德国最古老的公共剧场和歌剧院之一，其历史可追溯至17世纪。歌德的《浮士德》和众多戏剧都曾在此首演。

Staatstheater Braunschweig is one of the oldest public theater and opera houses in Germany going back to the 17th century. Goethe’s “Faust” and many other plays had their first openings here.

关于《我会死的》

IWD

《我会死的》是杨振中迄今为最重要的、持续时间最久的影像项目创作。该作品于1999年上海双年展外围展《有效期》上以单频录像的形式首次亮相。在其首部录像中，面对杨振中的镜头，居住在上海这个曾经年轻、活力四射的城市中的朋友们、艺术家、警察、孩子说出了同一句话——“我会死的”。此后，杨振中在日本、意大利、黎巴嫩、墨西哥等地继续拍摄，这句放诸四海而皆准的真言却显现出不同的含义。之后，《我会死的》陆续亮相2007年威尼斯双年展和许多国际大型展览并引起轰动。

“I Will Die” is Yang Zhenzhong’s most ambitious and most enduring work so far. It was premiered as a single channel video at the Shanghai Biennale off exhibition “Useful Life" in 1999. In this first video, people from theever young and optimistic city of Shanghai, including artist’s friends, artists, police men, children etc., faced Yang’s camera. Yang went on to shoot people in many places such as Japan, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico etc.. The truth is the same everywhere, butit still has different connotations. IWD was shown at the Venice Biennale 2007 and many other major exhibitions.

在布伦瑞克驻留期间，杨振中会拍摄《我会死的》的又一章节：来自不同地区的歌手和演员们将使用各自的母语表演，如英语、希伯来语、汉语、韩语、德语、塞尔维亚语、比利时语、乌克兰语等说出或唱出这句“我会死的”。

In Braunschweig Yang Zhenzhong will also be creating a new chapter of IWD withthe singers/actors of the opera who will speak or sing the words “I will die”in their native languages, such as English, Hebrew, Chinese, Korean, German, Serbian and Ukrainian etc.

About Yang Zhenzhong

自2000年以来，杨振中与杨福东、徐震等艺术家独立策划了多场极具影响力的新媒体当代艺术展，对上海世纪之交的当代艺术面貌有着举足轻重的影响力。他的作品曾在世界各地的多个双年展和数百个国际重要展览中展出。

Together with Yang Fudong and Xu Zhen, Yang Zhenzhong belongs to the group of young artists who changed Shanghai’s art scene after 2000. His works were shown in many biennales and hundreds of other exhibitions around the world, still he remains one of the most “invisible” Chinese artists.
