杜梦堂(巴黎)荣幸呈现“碰撞”——中国艺术家翁纪军和法国艺术家文森·漆的双个展,集中展出艺术家近期的漆画创作。此次展览是继去年在上海空间的展览“髹行”后两人展开的二次对话,以各自创作理念为出发点,在东西碰撞的当代语境中引领我们重新发现漆的魅力。

Galerie Dumonteil Paris is very pleased to present Collision, a dual solo exhibition of Chinese artist Weng Jijun and French artist Wensen Qi, featuring two artists’ most recent practice in lacquer painting. This exhibition opens a new discourse as well as their thoughts and contemplations on this traditional art form during the contemporary era.

翁纪军 (1955年出生于上海) 看来,漆艺与其他艺术最大的区别就在于漆语本身的特殊性,大漆富于变化的氧化过程造就了漆艺表达的丰富性。对漆艺的精通使翁纪军更关注于作品的精神层面,将漆与画的本质作为自己探索的核心议题,用更单纯、直接的方式着重关注大漆材料本身的意义,将他理 解的一些髹漆技艺转化为作品的抽象表达。此次展出的作品包括从非遗技艺“犀皮漆”汲取灵感的《集聚系列》,《记忆系列》,《山水系列》和《角度犀利》等。


To Weng Jijun (b.1955, Shanghai), the oxidation process reveals the very essence of lacquer and enriches its language of expression. Mastering various sophisticated lacquer-making techniques, Weng pays more attention to the fundamental aspect of lacquer and painting by expressing in a simpler, more direct approach and transforming some of the lacquer techniques into abstract expressions. Collison will feature Weng's several series, including the Memory series, Angle series, Landscape series, and the Cluster series inspired by the intangible culture heritage Xipi Qi (or Rhino Skin Lacquer, if translated directly).

文森·漆 (原名Vincent Cazeneuve,1977年出生于图卢兹地区,法国) 则热衷于在艺术创作中实验各种不同寻常的材料,以及研究各种材料随着时间的推移所产生的变化。为了使不同材料能够完整的融合在一起,文森耐心等待、思索,而后再 一次投身于对未知的探索。不同类型的材料使文森的作品被赋予了结构和时间的双重维度,材料或会失去原本的面貌,游走于熟悉与陌生之间,最终形成了他自己的艺术语言。艺术家像一个谦逊的学者,在静谧沉思中传递美的真谛。


Wensen Qi (formerly known as Vincent Cazeneuve, b. 1977, Toulouse region, France) is keen on experimenting with various materials driven by his fascination with human’s ability to transform natural materials throughout history and how various materials react to the magic touch of time. In order to allow these materials to fully integrate with each other, the artist patiently waits, reflects, and again sets off for the unknown. Thus, the variety of materials endows Wensen’s work with both structural and temporal dimensions, in which the original property of the materials is often neglected or half-lost. This shift between the familiar and the unfamiliar shapes Wensen’s artistic language, like a modest thinker reveals the beauty conceived in silent contemplation.

翁纪军(1955年出生于上海),1981年江西师范大学艺术学院毕业,1996年中央美术学院壁画课程结业,后任教于上海工艺美术学校,现为中国美术家协会会员、中国漆器专业指导委员会委员、上海美术家协会漆画艺委会副主任。


Weng Jijun (b. 1955, Shanghai, China) graduated from Jiangxi Normal University College of Fine Arts in 1981 and from the Mural Paintings department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1996. Later he began his teaching career at Shanghai Art & Design Academy. He is recognized as a member of the Chinese Artists Association, China Professional Lacquer Steering Committee, and vice-director of Working Committee of Lacquer Painting, Shanghai Artists Association. 


翁纪军的作品屡获殊荣,包括:上海美术大展沈柔坚艺术基金奖(2015及2017),第三届全国漆画展优秀作品奖(2012),上海世博会中国美术作品展览漆画优秀作品奖(2010),第二届全国漆画展优秀作品奖(2007)等。


Weng Jijun’s work has won numerous awards in China including: Shenroujian Art Fund Prize of the 9th Shanghai Art Exhibition (2017 & 2015); Outstanding Prize in the Lacquer Painting Catagory of Shanghai Expo National Artwork Exhibition (2010); Recognition Award of the 3rd National Lacquer Painting Work Exhibition (2012 & 2007);


翁纪军近期重要展览包括:第58届威尼斯艺术双年展——中国·意境当代艺术展,威尼斯,意大利(2019);“海派雅韵——翁纪军漆艺作品展”,上海城市规划馆,上海(2018);“髹行”,翁纪军 & 文森·漆双个展,杜梦堂,上海 (2018);第九届上海美术大展,上海(2017)等。艺术家的作品被国内许多重要艺术机构收藏,包括:广州博物馆、福建美术馆、中华人民共和国奥林匹克委员会,上海世博主委会等。


Weng Jijun's most recent major exhibitions include but not limited to: CINA TECHNE, the 58th Venice Biennale, Venice (2019); Urban Colors in the Shanghai School of Lacquer Art - Weng Jijun's Lacquer Art, Shanghai Urban Planning Center, Shanghai (2018); The Enduring Practices of Lacquer, Galerie Dumonteil Shanghai (2018); the 9th Shanghai Art Exhibition, Shanghai, China (2017), etc. His work has been collected by major art institutions in China such as Guangzhou Museum of Art, Fujian Museum of Art, Chinese Olympic Committee, Expo Shanghai China, etc.

文森漆(1977年出生于图卢兹地区,法国),原名Vincent Cazeneuve,毕业于利维尔工艺艺术学院(Ecole des Metiers d’Art)完成学业,随后建立自己的第一个工作室,并致力于西方与亚洲漆器的修复工作。为了进一步掌握漆画技法,文森于2009年移居中国重庆,一心钻研漆艺,以及与漆艺相关的中国传统文化。


Wensen Qi (b.1977 in Toulouse, France),aka Vincent Cazeneuve,  accomplished his study at Ecole des Metiers d’Art in Revel before opening his first studio specialized in the restoration of Western and Asian lacquer wares. To acquire the full knowledge of lacquer art, Wensen moved to Chongqing, China in 2009 and committed himself to deciphering the secret of lacquer as well as the traditional Chinese culture around this particular form of art. 


在学习过程中,文森逐步发展出其独特的艺术语言和审美,用看似简约实则繁复的语言对东西方文化兼容并蓄,并进一步探索将其他材料融入漆画的可能性,如苎麻帆布、麻绳、竹子、皮革等。同时,他还尝试汲取版画、浮雕印花、马赛克拼贴等其他艺术形式,使其作品拥有丰富的层次和触感。


He gradually developed his own narratives and aesthetics from both occidental and oriental influences with his deceptively simple and yet complex language, and further explored the integration of lacquer with materials including ramie canvas, rope, bamboos, leather, etc. Wensen also adopts various texture effects, such as lithography, relief prints and mosaic collage, lending his artworks rich layers and tactile feelings.

文森漆的作品曾在国内外广泛展出,其中个展包括:“髹行”,翁纪军 & 文森·漆双个展,杜梦堂,上海 (2018);新新艺术画廊,香港(2017);杜梦堂,上海(2015);布普瑞城堡(Chateau de Beaupré),罗讷河口(Bouches-du-Rh?ne),法国(2015);叶娜卡特别墅画廊(Yenakart Villa art gallery),曼谷,泰国(2015);Roguet 空间(Espace Roguet),图卢兹,法国(2014)等。文森的作品已被纳入法国、意大利、美国、瑞士和中国等地的私人收藏。

Wensen's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including The Enduring Practices of Lacquer, Galerie Dumonteil Shanghai (2018); Sin Sin Fine Art, Hong Kong (2017); Galerie Dumonteil, Shanghai (2015); Chateau de Beaupré, Bouches-du-Rh?ne, France  (2015); Yenakart Villa Art Gallery, Bangkok (2015), Espace Roguet, Toulouse, France (2014), etc. Wensen's work has also been included in private collections in France, Italy, US, Switzerland, and China.
