被称为“打击乐女皇”的Marilyn Mazur,是全世界最负盛名的女鼓手之一。

Performing in the 70’s as a dancer, composer and pianist, Marilyn switched to percussion and drums as her main instruments when she was 19.
Since then Marilyn has been very active as a composer, bandleader and musician in a vast number of connections.
She has been a member of the orchestras of i.e. Miles Davis (1985-89), Wayne Shorter (1987) and Jan Garbarek (1991-2005), touring in the entire world with these names.
Marilyn leads several of her own bands and special projects, often based in Denmark. Besides these projects, she composes music for film, theatre etc.

She creates and performs continuously in numerous exciting projects, specializing in playing on large set-ups with instruments from most of the world. Her adventurous compositions have strong melodic qualities and elements of odd rhythms, complex figures and their own kind of poetic nordic minimalism. Marilyn has received many Danish and international awards in her long career, i.e. the Jazzparprize (01), the international/german Eurocore, the Wilhelm Hansens Composers Award and their honorary award 2017. She has been nominated twice for Nordic Councils Music Prize (1998 & 2001). As a composer she receives a lifetime honorary grant from the Danish Arts Foundation. In 2016 she was elected as member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

平林牧子1966年生于日本东京,4岁开始学习钢琴,9岁开始学习小提琴。她曾在香港度过了5年的童年时光——在这个文化大熔炉的生活体验给她带来了持续的影响。少年时期,她开始对电影配乐产生兴趣,并在20岁获得了波士顿伯克利音乐学院的奖学金。浸淫在波士顿的爵士乐场景之中的她,开始将更多的兴趣和注意力转向了爵士和即兴。毕业后,她将活动中心转移到了丹麦的哥本哈根,并开始了作为钢琴家和作曲家的职业生涯。

在其职业生涯中,平林牧子曾和爵士与世界音乐领域的许多音乐家有过合作。她前不久才参与了意大利传奇小号手Enrico Rava的二重奏/四重奏演出,同时她也是Marilyn Mazur多个音乐项目的活跃成员,并曾与许多欧洲顶级的音乐家同台,如Norma Winstone、Nils Petter Molv?r、Eivind Aarset和Fredrik Lundin等。

Since the release of her first trio album in 2006, Japanese pianist/composer Makiko Hirabayashi has received wide critical acclaim as a personal voice on the international jazz scene. The freshness of both her compositions and the trio’s vibrant interplay has caught the ears of many listeners around the world. The trio, featuring drummer/percussionist Marilyn Mazur (Miles Davis Group 85-89, Jan Garbarek Group 91-05) and bassist Klavs Hovman, has been her main focus in the recent years, where she established her unique sound through performances in Europe and Japan, as well as less travelled parts of the world e.g. Israel, Egypt and Malaysia.

This trio is known for their vibrant interplay and strong compositions with a great story telling quality, which can take you in surprising directions, once described in Jazz Special as “deeply integrated, fiercely vibrant trio playing”. Both their compositions and playing have a certain kind of lightness or transparency to it. Amongst thousands of piano trios, they earn their place as a personal voice that cannot be heard elsewhere. Elements of Far Eastern music, Nordic moods, jazz and classical music are all molded uncontrivedly into an intriguing, compelling sound of their own.
Makiko Hirabayashi was born 1966 in Tokyo, Japan. She started playing piano at the age of 4, and subsequently violin at 9. Spending 5 years of her childhood in Hong Kong – a cultural melting pot at the time, has had a lasting impact on her life. As a teenager, she became interested in film scoring and won a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she became more involved with jazz and improvisation. After graduation, she moved to Copenhagen to start her career as a pianist and composer.
Throughout her career, Makiko has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, both on the jazz scene and the world music scene. She has recently performed duo/quartet concerts with the legendary Italian trumpeter, Enrico Rava. She also plays an active roll in numerous projects led by Marilyn Mazur, and has worked with many of Europe’s top notch musicians, including Norma Winstone, Nils Petter Molv?r, Eivind Aarset, Auden Kleive, and Fredrik Lundin.
