BANK is thrilled to announce that artist Heidi Voet and Oliver Herring participate in the 2nd Sculpture Projects Ping Yao 2019. In this year’s Sculpture Projects Ping Yao 2019, it will feature In-between as we are concerned that there isn’t any immobile center but the only fluid relationship in the process of globalization nowadays. Entering the 21st century, China has shown unprecedented dynamics and vitality in its economic, political and social development. The East and the West, the tradition and the modernity, the rural and the urban, the humanity and nature, are all interpreting tens and thousands of relationships in a dazzling speed. Everything is between past and future and here and there. We expect our artists and sculptors from different countries to create pure interspaces with their artworks in this rapidly changing contemporary society, leading audiences to embrace abundance and at the same time get rid of the chaos. The ancient city of Pingyao with its sculpture projects will try its best to connect the past, the present, and the future, providing us with an in-between gap to ponder deeply over the essence of life.

BANK荣幸地宣布，艺术家海蒂·沃特(Heidi Voet)和奥利弗·赫林(Oliver Herring)将参加了第二届平遥雕塑节。第二届平遥国际雕塑节将以 “之间”为主题。我们关注到，当今全球化时代没有固定的中心，只有流动的关系。进入 21 世纪之后，中国体现出了前所未有的动感与活力。东方与西方，传统与现代，乡村与城市，人文与自然，以令人眼花缭乱的速度演绎各种各样的关系。一切都在“过去”与“未来”之间，在“这里”与“那里”之间。我 们期待来自不同国家的雕塑家们，用自己的作品在快速变化的当代社会辟出一片净土，让我们身处世界之中又置若世界之外。就像平遥古城，仿佛截断了历史的洪流，给了我们一个“之间”去瞻前顾后，东张西望。

Ulrich Loock was born in 1953 in Braunschweig, Germany. He was Director of Kunsthalle Bern from 1985 to 1997, Director of Kunstmuseum Luzern, Lucerne, Switzerland from 1997 to 2001, and Deputy Director of Museu de Serralves, Porto, Portugal from 2003 to 2010. He currently lives and works in Berlin as an independent curator, art critic, and lecturer. He has curated numerous exhibitions of artists such as Michael Asher, Matthew Barney, Marlene Dumas, Robert Gober, Katharina Grosse, Eberhard Havekost, Maria Lassnig, Sol LeWitt, Brice Marden, Gerhard Richter, Wilhelm Sasnal, Thomas Schu ̈tte, Thomas Struth, Luc Tuymans and Christopher Wool. In 1995, he curated a comprehensive show of Raymond Pettibon's work at Kunsthalle Bern and included the artistic work in the 2006 show, The 80s: A Topology at Museu de Serralves.

Peng Feng

Peng Feng was born in 1965, he is now the dean and professor of the school of art in Peking University and a famous curator and art critic in China. He has successfully curated exhibition in Chinese Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale from 4 April to 27 November 2011; the first International Biennale of Sculpture in Datong from 28 September to 28 November 2011; “Jet Lag - Chinese Contemporary Multimedia Art Exhibition" from 23 April to 27 May 2012 in Hanover International Convention and Exhibition Centre, etc.

关于策展人

乌尔里希·劳克

乌尔里希·劳克(Ulrich Loock)1953 年出生在德国布伦瑞克，现担任瑞士伯尔尼艺术大学的教授，居住在伯尔尼和柏林，为世界闻名的当代艺术批评家和策展人。乌尔里希曾就读于德国杜塞尔多夫美术学院绘画专业和德国鲁尔大学艺术史专业，获得博士学位，艺术尤其是当代绘画是他研究的方向。其后于1985至1997年担任瑞士伯尔尼(Bern)美术馆馆长，于 1997 至 2001 年担任瑞士卢塞恩(Luzern)美术馆馆长，于 2003至2010年担任葡萄牙波尔图 (Porto)博物馆的副馆长。乌尔里希与众多著名艺术家如托马斯·舒特 (Thomas Schütte)，马琳·杜马斯(Marlene Dumas)，马修·巴尼(Matthew Barney)，吕克·图伊曼斯(Luc Tuymans)，格哈特·李希特(Gerhard Richter)都有过成功的合作。

彭锋

彭锋，1965 年生，策展人，北京大学艺术学院院长，教授，博士生导师，“长江学者特聘教授”。曾策展 2011 威尼斯双年展中国馆《弥漫》(2011.6.4-11.27，意 大利，威尼斯);第一届大同国际雕塑双年展 (2011.9.28-11.28，山西大同，和阳美术馆);《时差——中国当代多媒体艺术展》(2012.4.23-5.27，德国汉诺威国 际会展中心，汉诺威浮士德艺术中心)等。
