轻重之间——耿雪作品展

2014年，艺术家耿雪完成了中央美术学院的研究生课程，毕业之际，耿雪的创作《海公子》在学院获奖并广受社会关注，受邀参加世界各地的艺术展和动画电影节，导师徐冰撰文“耿雪小文”，对耿雪的创作做出评价。如今，时间又过去了5年，耿雪最新作品《金色之名》受邀今年的威尼斯双年展。“轻重之间——耿雪作品展”,将完整呈现《金色之名》，包括在威尼斯中国馆现场未曾展出的影片雕塑原作、艺术家生动的手稿。除此之外，此次个展将集中展出艺术家耿雪近年来的多组实验作品。在此，以“耿雪小文”为引子，缓缓拉开展览序幕，在“轻重之间”，一起发现、理解耿雪创作的渊源、脉络、当下的呈现以及未来创作的更深广的方向。

耿雪附中毕业，雕塑系读的本科，后来考了我的硕士研究生。在她入硕士项目之前，我对她的作品就有了解，她做了一些陶瓷作品。作品里传达出一种特殊的只有艺术家的“手”才能生成的魅力，并将思想隐藏于其中。这是很难得的。为什么说？是因为在经历了严谨的学院训练——这种训练某种程度也在扼杀一个人天生携带的某种东西。其过程可以说是：知识和学术在一点一点地打磨、整理掉你身上自然本真的、属于生理部分的感受力和原创力。其实，就看谁有能力与强大的艺术史、与权威概念、与自己性格之间的较劲了。耿雪有这种能力。

三年研究生的创作过程结束了, 她让她本身的带有种子性质的部分培育生长起来了。像一个盒子被不断打开，跑出来一些不太容易被评述和归类的东西。她自己也在反省、阐释和总结自己的这些东西到底是什么。而她的反省又是在不间断的创作实践中展开的，在新旧作品的相互发现、印证、提问之间，展开的是更多思想空间。

Geng Xue graduated from the Fine Arts School Affiliated to Central Academy of Fine Arts and majored in sculpture in undergraduate school, before she became a graduate of mine. I’ve heard of her works before she was admitted to the graduate program. She made some ceramic works, in which a special concept of the artist's "hand" was conveyed. This is very rare. Why? It is because of the rigorous training in institutions to some extent also diminishes something that young people naturally carry. The process is actually that gaining knowledge and skills at the same time takes out one’s natural and biological feelings and originality. In fact, it depends on who has the ability to challenge art history, the authoritative concepts, and his or her own personality. Geng Xue has this ability.

In the three years of creative process as a graduate student, she has made better use of her own gifts, which are hard to comment on with any existing theory. She is also trying to introspect, interpret and summarize these things, and this kind of introspection is carried out in the continuous creation of works to confirm each other and ask questions so as to open up more ideological space.
