江山春 Jiang Shanchun

1980年生于內蒙呼和浩特。1998年至2002年就读中央美院油画系第一工作室，获学士学位，2001年参加英国格拉斯哥艺术学院院长琼斯教授素描培训。2006至2009年就读中国艺术研究院并获硕士学位，师从杨飞云。现任教于解放军艺术学院美术系。曾获“第十一届亚洲艺术节”银奖。

江山春的作品涵盖了多种源于传统的风格样式、绘画灵感与技巧法度，他能够创作出极为抽象的作品，营造一种特殊的感官经验，而这种感官经验通常只有以表现“虚” 与“实”见长的洁净精微的水墨传统手法才能唤发出来；他的蛋彩画作品介于西方写实主义与东方抽象风格之间；而传统中国卷轴式的水墨画作品，则是通过对主题逼真且细腻的呈现，赋予平凡的题材以鲜明的意义。

他创作了许多人像作品，都是从老照片里得到的灵感，描绘的是四、五十年前的人。他被照片中时光荏苒、沧桑的感觉所吸引，认为那些形象在那时呈现出了美、纯真和希望。从现在的角度去看过去的人，此时与彼时之间的张力是他肖像画展开意义的地方。这些肖像作品里面有着江山春所感受的沉着和冷静，以细腻的笔触和高超的纹理技巧重塑了陈旧的照片。

Born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in 1979. Studied at the first studio of Oil Painting Department of CAFA from 1998 to 2002, and achieved a degree of BFA. Participated in the sketch training class of Professor Jones, dean of Glasgow School of Art, in 2001. From 2006 to 2009, studied at the Chinese National Academy of Arts and received a MFA under Yang Feiyun. Won a silver award at the Eleventh Asian Arts Festival. Professor of the Art Department of Military Academy of Arts. Currently lives and works in Beijing.

Jiang Shanchun's works cover a variety of traditional styles, painting inspirations and techniques. He creates very abstract works with a special sensory experience, which can only be evoked by the clean and subtle traditional ink painting techniques that are good at expressing "emptiness" and "reality". His tempera works are between western realism and eastern abstract style, on the other hand, his traditional Chinese scroll-style ink painting works, through the realistic and delicate presentation of the theme, give the ordinary subject with vivid connotation.

He created many portraits, inspired by old photographs, of people from 40 to 50 years ago. He was fascinated by the vicissitudes in the photos, believing that the images presented beauty, innocence and hope in old days. The tension between the present and the past is where his portrait unfolds. It is the coolness and calmness from the artist that the portraits deliver, recreating old photographs with delicate brushwork and superb texturing skills.
