2020年7月7日 - 7月29日，由广东美术馆主办，王绍强担任策展人的 “墨滴星河：林国成作品展” 在广东美术馆8/9展厅举办。“墨滴星河：林国成作品展” 主题源于艺术家对中国古典文化的思索，尝试探讨人对天的观察，人与天、人与宇宙的关系。在艺术家看来，这样的关系构成了我们整个文化的根基。展览由两大版块构成：“神秘与未知”主要呈现了人与天、人与未来、人与科学之间的各种神秘未知；“器物与图像”则通过对传统与器物图像进行再创造呈现人对传统和过往多维时空的思考。林国成在对中华传统文化精神和古代画学意境的探索中，充分发挥硬笔和软笔工具的双重特性，结合中西不同语境对造型和用线的理解，在无限延展的平面上呈现不同思想空间中的线性艺术，及其与水墨共筑的当代实验场域。对当代水墨创作和艺术家个案研究一直是广东美术馆长期关注并持续推进的课题项目，我们期待借助本次林国成作品展为观众带来一个别样的思考线索与观看角度。
From July 7th to July 29th, 2020, hosted by Guangdong Museum of Art and curated by Wang Shaoqiang, Galaxy of Ink: Lin Guocheng Solo Exhibition was held in Gallary 8/9 of Guangdong Museum of Art.The theme of Galaxy of Ink: Lin Guocheng Solo Exhibition originated from the artist's thinking on Chinese classical culture, trying to discuss the observation of the sky, and the relationship between human and the sky, human and the universe. In the artist's opinion, this relationship forms the foundation of our entire culture. The exhibition consists of two sections: Unknow, mainly presenting various mysterious unknowns between man and sky, man and the future, and man and science. Utensils and Images presents human’s thinking about tradition and past multi-dimensional time and space through the re-creation of tradition and artifacts. In his exploration of the spirit of Chinese traditional culture and the artistic conception of ancient paintings, Lin Guocheng gave full play to the dual characteristics of pen and Chinese ink, combining the understanding of shapes and lines in different contexts of Chinese and Western, it presents linear art in different thought, and its contemporary experimental field co-built with ink and wash on an infinitely extending plane. Contemporary Chinese ink creation and case studies of artists have always been the subject of the Guangdong Museum of Art's long-term attention and continuous promotion. We look forward to using this exhibition of Lin Guocheng's artworks to bring a different thinking clue and perspective to the audience.

杜梦堂画廊创始人皮耶·杜梦堂先生特别为此次展览作序：
2006年起，我开始接触中国当代艺术，直至2008年，杜梦堂（画廊）在上海开业，我一直有留意那些不太受西方艺术影响的中国艺术家。
中国文化经历了多年的封闭与变革，到八十年代才逐渐对外开放，西方艺术随之东渐，给中国艺术家带来了不小的文化冲击。但初探西方艺术之后，中国艺术家在创作时便受到了深刻的影响。西方藏家对此报以热忱，而大多也怀有投机之心，继而加剧了这种影响趋势的发展。看到许多中国艺术家抛开感性认知、疏离上千年的文化传统主题，我一度觉得失望而担忧。幸甚至哉，华夏民众慢慢意识到这种传统文化是民族立身之本，而越来越多的创作者也开始将当代艺术的表现力与中华文明的根基相融合，臻求二者之间的和谐统一。看到林国成的作品后，我感受到一种冲击，就像天上闪开的一道金光，默启了一种重生的希望。从画作表现的主题以及作品所流露出的美感来看，林国成是最擅长表现国墨诗意画风的当代艺术大师。弃毛笔而用钢笔，画笔的简化绝不是背叛传统或者虚图便利，恰恰相反，新派作画工具服务于传统画风，取老瓶装新酒之意。一种文明可能因为拒绝现代性而衰亡，同样地，也可以因为抛弃过往而落败。而且我敢说林国成的作品象征着中国艺术史在当代艺术表现中的延续。他的作品不仅得到了中国藏家或对华友好人士的欣赏，还扬名海外，跨越了沙漠山海划定的空间局限。他的作品能与热爱艺术的灵魂共鸣相通，对这些艺术热爱者而言，艺术之于生命，如同食物之于生活。他的作品是诗歌，亦是思想的漩涡，将我们引入深一层的“适意”。他的作品中，有些使人平静，有些又令人称奇，总是能浸润我们的目光，将我们引向沉思的彼岸。

Pierre Dumonteil, founder of Galerie Dumonteil, wrote the foreword escpecially for the exhibition：
From my first engagement with Chinese contemporary art in 2006 up to the opening of Galerie Dumonteil Shanghai in 2008, I have always been keen in discovering Chinese artists whose work shows little influence of Western art.
After so many years of cultural isolation and questioning of its own traditions, China gradually opened its doors to the rest of the world in the 1980s. The arrival of Western art soon followed this historical event, causing a huge stir among Chinese artists.However, the intense interest for Western art in Chinese artistic circles would profoundly influence the work of Chinese artists. Commercially, Western collectors embraced the incorporation of Western aesthetics into Chinese art not only with genuine enthusiasm, but also quite often with opportunistic speculation. Subsequently, the collectors’ taste further encouraged Chinese artists to merge elements of Western art with their own artistic language.As many Chinese artists abandoned their sensitivities, departed from traditional subjects, and distanced themselves from China’s multi-millennial culture, I became increasingly frustrated and worried.Fortunately, as the Chinese gradually realized that cultural traditions act as the base of national identity, an increasing number of artists began to harmonize and unify contemporary artistic expression with the roots of Chinese civilization.The shock, or love at first sight as I would describe, which I felt in the presence of Lin Guocheng's work represents the revelation of a new hope.Thanks to Lin’s artistic themes, and even more so to the aesthetics of his oeuvre, Lin is an unrivaled master of contemporary expression who is most adept at portraying the poetic nature of Chinese ink paintings.Lin’s passage from the Chinese ink brush to the pen is in no way a betrayal or a choice made for the sake of convenience. On the contrary, the shift of medium is about the appropriation of a new tool in the service of tradition.This gesture is a part of what is agreed as an "evolution".A civilization can die from its rejection of modernity as well as its denial of its past. And I dare say that Lin's work is an enchanting expression of the history of Chinese art in its contemporary continuity.This continuity means that Lin’s work is not limited to the appreciation of Chinese collectors or cultivated sinophiles; his art seduces far beyond the oceans, deserts, and mountains.Lin’s oeuvre contains universal expressions seen in other masterpieces admired by posterity.These artworks speak to the minds and souls of those who consider art as an essential nourishment to life. They are landscapes; they are dreams; they are poetry and whirlwinds for our thoughts, leading us to a profound state of well being and comfort.Some of Lin’s work soothe and others intrigue, all taming our gaze and guiding us to the banks of contemplation.

林国成（1979年出生于广东省）以其绝妙的钢笔水墨风景为人所熟知。高中辍学后，他于2002至2003年进修于四川美术学院，目前在北京和云南两地生活和创作。
林国成独特的绘画语言对东西方的艺术传统包容并蓄，同时也挑战着两种体系的交融与碰撞。一方面，艺术家精妙的钢笔技法出自其对欧洲中世纪及文艺复兴时期艺术的热爱，尤其是米开朗基罗的素描和丢勒的铜版画；另一方面，艺术家对中国的哲学思想和文人绘画独具慧心，尤其欣赏石涛、陈洪绶和董源的作品。林国成充分汲取各家所长，在当代维度下钻研和探索钢笔与水墨结合的可能, 流动的“气”亦或是生命能量的循环总是出现在林国成的作品中, 通过文人画丰富的技法以及对形神气韵的追求为那些密集、繁复的钢笔线条留出了想象的空间，注入了更多活力和多样性，使最终呈现的作品既有对气力的把控，又不失对细节的雕琢。
林国成的作品曾广泛展出于国内外画廊和艺术机构，包括Macdonald Stewart艺术中心，加拿大；David Aaron画廊，伦敦；中国文化中心，马耳他；杜梦堂，巴黎&上海；3812画廊，香港；今日美术馆，北京；湖北美术馆和广东美术馆等。艺术家的作品已被纳入北美、欧洲和亚洲众多私人收藏，其中包括芝加哥美术馆；加拿大Macdonald Stewart艺术中心；香港梅洁楼；香港怡情斋；汇丰银行；美高梅集团等机构收藏。
Lin Guocheng (b.1979, Guangdong Province) is a Chinese artist known for his amazing ink landscapes drawn with pen. Lin attended Sichuan Fine Arts Institute between 2002 and 2003 after withdrawing from high school. He currently works and lives in Beijing and Kunming. Lin's unique language embraces the artistic traditions of the East and the West, and challenges the integration and collision of those two systems. On one hand, the artist’s exquisite ink pen technique originates from his passion for European medieval and Renaissance art, especially Michelangelo's sketches and Albrecht Dürer's engravings. On the other hand, Lin has a profound understanding of Chinese philosophies and literati paintings with particular admiration for the works by Shi Tao, Chen Hongshou, and Dong Yuan. Fully absorbing the strengths of both systems, the artist explores the possibility of combining pen and Chinese ink in the contemporary dimensions. The fluidic Qi — the circulating life force — is always present in Lin’s work. Through the rich techniques of literati painting and its pursuit of the spirit, the repetitively dense pen strokes become vital, unpredictable, and full of room for imagination, giving the final works spontaneity, momentum, and interesting details as well.Lin’s work has been featured in exhibitions at multiple galleries and art institutions including Macdonald Stewart Art Center, Canada; David Aaron Gallery, London; Chinese Cultural Center, Malta; Galerie Dumonteil, Paris and Shanghai, 3812 Gallery, Hong Kong; Today Art Museum, Beijing; Hubei Museum of Fine Art, Hubei; Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangdong, etc. His work has been collected by private collectors from North America, Europe and Asia, including organizations such as the Art Institute of Chicago, U.S; Macdonald Stewart Art Center, Canada; M K Lau Collection, Hong Kong; Yiqingzhai Collection, Hong Kong; HSBC Art Collection; and MGM Resorts Fine Art Collection etc.
