Limited and infinite,
The Creator and Creation



出生于广州,现居重庆。从事儿童美育教育,喜欢与人交流。六年前在课堂上,一个9岁孩子画了一幅小画,把“丁丁”变成了一件武器。那时我发现儿童对性器官的认知与成年人有着很大的差异,给我很新鲜的冲击感。之后我便开始尝试对“丁丁”的不同探索,用儿童的角度去把它玩具化、武器化、角色化等等。作为一个成年人却要用儿童的角度去观察事物是一件很矛盾的事,这种矛盾里有一个缺口,成年与童年之间的缺口是我创作的动力。
Born in Guangzhou, now lives in Chongqing, Wei Yimu works on children's art education and enjoys interacting with people. Six years ago, a nine-year-old child drew a picture describing "ding ding" as a weapon. I realised that children's perceptions of sexual organs were very different from adults, which was impressive and fresh for me. After that I started to explore different aspects of 'ding ding', describe it as toys, weapons, characters, etc. As an adult, it is a contradiction to look at things from a child's point of view. There is a gap in this contradiction, and the gap between adulthood and childhood drives me to make art.

一个普通得可以成为任何一个人的女孩,因为有视力上的问题去配眼镜而进入到验光的世界之中。借用女孩的眼睛我们得以对这个用来测量视觉的世界进行观察,而正是这种观察的力量推动着这个世界的运行。验光的世界正是现实世界规律的一种缩影、一个演算模式。我们站在不同的视角观测便得到不同的结果。能量的膨胀和收缩,必然和偶然同时并存。
A girl, who is too normal to be recognized in the crowd, goes to the optometry and then enters into a world. We can observer the world which is used to measure the eyesight through this girl’s eyes. It is the power of observing that make the world work. The optometry world is an epitome and a pattern of the reality. We have different outcomes when observing it in different ways. The expand and shrink, necessary and accident are side by side.

来自杭州,喜欢晒太阳和下象棋。这个系列的人物五官只有作为眼睛的两个黑点,情绪强度很弱,但这个弱同时也能容纳最多的情绪。倾向于构造有仪式感和相对整洁的画面。
Based in Hangzhou, Jiezang loves sunbath and chinese chess. The figures in this series only have two eyes like black dots on their face, thus releasing very weak emotions. But the weak thing can also contain most strong things. He prefers to construct the image with sense of ceremony and cleanliness.

陈陈陈的创作以概念构架为主体,涉猎录像,剧场,绘画,装置和行为和音乐,每个一单独项目的内容取材和呈现手法各不相同,构建出各异的平行世界,但都在他的创作主线——“贫困科幻”的管理之下,一种源自原始恐惧却面向人类未来的生命实验。性自体系列展示了雌雄同体的螺丝,以及它的方方面面。
Chenchenchen’s accomplishment in the art field centres upon construction of conceptions, his works cover a wide range of representations: video, theatre, painting, installation, live performance and music. They are coherently arranged into a futuristic panorama within a conceptual framework of “Poor Sci-Fi”. That is, a Science Fiction rooted and sprouted from our tough situation – a Sci-Fi that does not derived from anything comforting or glamorous, but from the “poor” side of a complex entity which makes up our real life. In ‘sex-in-itself’ series, it shows a hermaphroditic screw with diverse version.
