The Creator and Creation
Born in Guangzhou, now lives in Chongqing, Wei Yimu works on children's art education and enjoys interacting with people. Six years ago, a nine-year-old child drew a picture describing "ding ding" as a weapon. I realised that children's perceptions of sexual organs were very different from adults, which was impressive and fresh for me. After that I started to explore different aspects of 'ding ding', describe it as toys, weapons, characters, etc. As an adult, it is a contradiction to look at things from a child's point of view. There is a gap in this contradiction, and the gap between adulthood and childhood drives me to make art.

A girl, who is too normal to be recognized in the crowd, goes to the optometry and then enters into a world. We can observer the world which is used to measure the eyesight through this girl’s eyes. It is the power of observing that make the world work. The optometry world is an epitome and a pattern of the reality. We have different outcomes when observing it in different ways. The expand and shrink, necessary and accident are side by side.
