《红》是一件在地创作作品，由安东尼·蒙塔达斯于某日在上海街道与广场上穿行时拍下的64张摄影组成。这一天是2017年10月1日，恰逢中华人民共和国成立68周年的国庆日。蒙塔达斯置身于欢庆的过程，他用相机捕捉到了上海市民的热烈和城市脉搏，以及城市各处出现的红色。

RED is a site-specific work consist of a big panel of 64 photographs showing the results of Antoni Muntadas' flow through the Shanghai streets and squares on a given day. That day was October 1st, 2017, coinciding with the China National Day that celebrates the sixty-eighth anniversary of the formation of the People's Republic of China. Carried away by the course of the celebrations, Muntadas captured through his camera the drift of Shanghai's citizens and the pulse of the city, always around the red color ubiquitous in the city.

安东尼·蒙塔达斯

Antoni Muntadas was born in 1942 in Barcelona. He currently works and lives in NewYork, US. Antoni Muntadas was an early pioneer of video and installation in the mid-seventies, and he is continuely working with photography, video, installation, audio recording, and urban intervention. Through his works he addresses social, political, and conmunication issues such as the relationship between public and private space within social frameworks, and investigates channels of information and the ways they may be used to sensor or promulgate ideas. His work is considered to be one of the important drives for the recognition of video culture in the context of contemporary art. Muntadas has recived several prizes and grants from sources including the Solomon R.Guggenheim Foundation.

关于上海双年展 | About Shanghai Biennale

从2020年11月10日到2021年7月25日，第13届上海双年展将以“水体”为名，在跨度8个月的时间里向观众讲述水作为生命的源泉如何超越地域，将个体相连；探讨不同群体如何在交融中形成；同时，召集艺术家超越个体，超越国界地思考互联协作的新形式。

第13届双年展的最强音将出现在2021年春季的实体展览中。展览将以庆典的形式拉开帷幕，覆盖当代馆1至3楼以及烟囱空间。展览希望观众能在思考和对话中组建流动的社群。作为上双的有机组成部分，“城市项目”将更加深入地发现和挖掘上海的历史文脉，以黄浦江为线索串联起一座城市的过去、现在和未来。

For the first time, the Biennale will operate as an eight-month, evolving, “in crescendo” project conceived as a collective undertaking by artists, activists, and institutions, and unfolding in three phases between November 2020 and July 2021, challenging the usual art biennale format.

Titled Bodies of Water, the 13th Shanghai Biennale will advocate for processes of planetary re-alliance relying on transspecies collectivity. Exploring forms of fluid solidarity, the Biennale will convene artists to think beyond human-centered and nation-based narratives, connecting the discussions of bodies with those of the environment.

Opening with a festival, the Biennale will unfold into an exhibition that will run through PSA and expand into a series of locations along the Huangpu River and across the city of Shanghai.
