Later Date is an online performance initiated by the artist McCarthy during the epidemic, consisting of an online chat between the artist and audiences in the gallery, and a script and a performance composed by the artist in the future based on the conversation. The chats reflect the performer and audiences' imagination towards the encounters that may take place after quarantine at later date. For McCarthy, this simple online chat was considered as a powerful form of performance that could bring people closer during a period when video calls and meetings are prevalent. The performers and participants could only confirm each other's presence through the messages popping up on the screen, but share a common prospect as they wait together to discuss a meeting existing in the future. On May 22, before the closing day of We=Link: Sideways, McCarthy will connect with the audiences at CAC via the internet and chat about the meeting at later date.

The participating artist of We=Link: Sideways Jonas Lund will talk about his views on quantification, optimisation and automated decision-making and their potential influence on internet culture that underpin the series of Internet games developed by himself. Starting with her work Clickmine, artist Sarah Friend will dig into the meaning of the term "Statistical Fetishism" to describe the inherent function of the need to create quantity, and explore how blockchain and finance can be employed as a game engine. In the presentation by game theorist LI Dengfeng, he will explore how games can be seamlessly integrated into life based on his study on the interface design, and with a quantitative mechanism of games how life is gamified.
