杜梦堂很高兴与您分享艺术家文森·漆(Vincent Cazeneuve)的最新展讯。在第十五届中法文化之春的框架下，法国艺术家文森·漆在成都的首次个展「叙述」将于 2021 年 6 月 11 日在成都许燎源现代设计艺术博物馆开幕，展览将持续至7月30日。

DUMONTEIL is pleased to share with you the latest news of the artist Vincent Cazeneuve, also known as Wensen QI. In the context of the 15th Festival Croisements, "Récits", Cazeneuve's first solo exhibition in Chengdu, opens on June 11, 2021, at the Xu Liaoyuan Museum of Modern Art, and continues through July 30.

本次展览将展出文森·漆的近20件作品，呈现他对不同材料进行探索的成果，以及他与环境、自然和中国漆器原料采集之间千丝万缕的联系。文森·漆扎根于中国西南地区十余年，深入偏远的产漆地，在探索中国传统漆器工艺的同时，他的创作受到中西方文化的影响，将丰富的材料与意象交织在一起。

"Récit" presents a series of Cazeneuve's recent works, the fruit of his research on possible narrations between Chinese lacquer and other materials, its complicit links with the environment, nature, and the lacquer harvesters in China.

The artist has been living in southwest China for more than ten years in order to discover the secret of Chinese lacquer. His work is nourished by Western and Eastern influences, composite materials, and mixed techniques forming a series of intertwined stories. 

 

In preparation for this exhibition, the artist has traveled to Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province to visit Mr. Baishi Fuji and Mr. Jiwu Wuqie, two Yi lacquer craftsmen, to learn more about the local traditional lacquer craftsmanship, especially the Yi lacquer armor and lacquer bowls. The lacquer searching trip brought new inspiration to Cazeneuve, who has incorporated this cultural heritage in two of his latest creations in this exhibition. 

艺术家以独特的抽象叙事方式自由地将不同属性的材料融入其大漆创作：从金箔、石墨，到米袋、竹编等，以看似简约实则反复的语言彰显不同的地域文化影响。观众将通过文森·漆大胆的当代漆艺创作，感受中法文化的印迹，以及艺术家灵感的源泉——采漆人居住的森林深处。

The artist applied varied materials to his lacquer creations in a unique abstract narrative: from gold leaf, graphite, to rice sacks and woven bamboos, highlighting regional cultural influences in his complex yet deceptively simple language. Through Cazeneuve's bold contemporary lacquer creations, viewers will experience the imprint of Chinese and French culture, as well as the deep forest where the artist's inspiration comes from - the forest where the lacquer man lives.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

文森·漆（1977年出生），原名Vincent Cazeneuve，是一名专注于当代大漆创作的法国艺术家。在法国完成学业后，他曾创立工作室专注于西方与亚洲漆器的修复工作，后于2009年移居中国重庆，一心钻研漆艺，以及与其创作相关的中国传统文化和手工技艺。

Vincent Cazeneuve (b.1977)，also known as 文森·漆 (Wensen QI), is a French artist using Chinese lacquer as his primary medium of creation. After completing his studies in France, he created a studio specializing in the restoration of Western and Asian lacquerware before moving to Chongqing, China, in 2009 to decipher the secret of lacquer and traditional Chinese culture artisanal techniques associated with his work.

文森·漆用看似简约实则繁复的艺术语言对东西方文化兼容并蓄，不懈探索将其他材料融入大漆创作的可能性，如旧米袋、麻绳、竹子、皮革等。同时，他还尝试汲取版画、浮雕、拼贴等其他艺术形式，以及梭织、竹编等传统工艺，使其作品拥有丰富的层次和触感。

He gradually developed his narratives and aesthetics from both occidental and oriental influences with his deceptively simple and yet complex language while relentlessly exploring non-traditional supports such as old rice bags, jute ropes, bamboo, and leather. He also tries to draw on other art forms such as lithography, relief carving, collage, and traditional crafts such as cloth and bamboo weaving, lending his work rich layers and tactile feelings.

文森·漆的作品曾在国内外艺术机构广泛展出，其中包括北京清华大学美术学院(2020)，云南省博物馆(2019)，四川美术学院美术馆(2019)，法国巴黎中国文化中心(2017)，法国勒韦艺术与工艺学院(Revel IMARA，2013)，上海当代艺术双年展(2010)等。同时，文森的作品已被纳入法国、意大利、美国、瑞士和中国等地的私人收藏。

Vincent Cazeneuve’s work has been widely exhibited in art institutions in China and abroad, including the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, Beijing (2020), Yunnan Provincial Museum (2019), Art Museum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (2019), Chinese Cultural Center, Paris, France (2017), Revel IMARA, France (2013), Shanghai Biennale of Contemporary Art ( 2010), etc. Meanwhile, his work has been included in private collections in France, Italy, the United States, Switzerland, and China.
