K60 will count with the participation of 30 artists, represented by the organizing galleries, with works spanning video, installation, sculpture, photography and painting.
Established last year as a reaction to the repetitive cancellation of cultural events, the re-enactment of the K60 initiative in the new year underlines the importance of collaboration between galleries and Berlin’s art community as a positive and ongoing practice. Especially now, when normality seems to be one step closer, it is crucial to continue to encourage dialogue, discussion, to dedicate space to the creation of new ideas and sharing of resources.
This year the galleries will be exhibiting in two ground-floor rooms of over 2000 m2, offering a further opportunity to articulate dialogue and highlight the common thread linking the works on display - while at the same time allowing each artist the necessary space to enhance their individual and unique research.

Tong Kunniao
Tong Kunniao, born in 1990 in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, now lives and works in Beijing. He graduated from the 3rd Studio of Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2015, enrolled in the graduate school in 2016 and dropped out in the same year. Tong Kunniao’s artworks are diverse, interspersed with installation, performance, video, sculpture, painting and other media. He is accustomed to using the (excess) products of modern society, a perpetual waste factory, and the remnants of objects that are within his reach in his daily life. Focusing on the limitations and depletion of individual identity and status by the complicated social structure, he decomposes ready-made objects, combines mechanical tandem, and introduces factors such as gravity balance, thus responding to the multiple variables and vulnerabilities between individual consciousness and social mechanisms behind the materials. At a time when worship and consumer culture symbols are prevalent and information is overloaded, the imaginary boundaries of human re-creations are constantly broken through, presenting tricky and playful reconstructions in parallel.
Chen Dandizi was born in 1990. She graduated from the oil painting department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2015. Dandizi's works are characterized by a symbiosis of media: Her use of video, installation, photography, and literature form integral parts required to illuminate intimate, short-lived moments in time, and human emotion. Her works explore the perception and experience of encounters with reoccurring phenomena of the natural and artificial world. Dandizi's art explores central themes such as self-knowledge and observation of her lived environment. Revealing the fleeting nature of hidden connections between a unique moment and emotion is at the heart of her creative process.
Dandizi's works have been included in a recent solo exhibition at Hua International, Beijing, China, and Canton Gallery, Guangzhou, China; her group exhibitions were held in ShanghART M50, OCAT Shenzhen, Para Site, West Bund Art&Design, Beijing Contemporary Art Expo, Hua International, Capsule Gallery, Galleria Continua, Spurs Gallery, Shenzhen Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism/ Architecture, Frick Fine Arts Building University of Pittsburgh, Mexico National Culture Digital Center, Lianzhou Foto Festival 2019. Finalist in the ART SANYA & HUAYU Youth Award.
Fanny Gicquel
Fanny Gicquel’s works move between installation, sculpture and performance and develop spaces that accommodate different elements which presuppose a scenario of activation. The sculptures act as extensions of the body and are activated through gestures that question the correlation of the body/object and the self and the other. In this way, the work explores the relationship between the animate and the inanimate, space and time during and after the actions. These works bring into play the spatial and corporeal permeability of the dualism between notions of individual/collective, private/public, Intimate/distant. The works require the performance and also exist outside it in a network of choreography and improvisation. Her work has recently been presented in solo exhibitions at HUA international, Berlin, Germany (2021); Passerelle Centre d’art contemporain, Brest, France (2020); Loto, Brussels, Belgium (2020); Museum of Fine Arts, Rennes (2019); Maison Internationale de Rennes, Rennes (2018).
