Exhibtion Assistant
· Work alongside the Gallery Director, assist Exhibition Executive and the team to project manage and deliver a rolling program of exhibitions and events from inception to completion· Preparation for gallery opening receptions; archiving when exhibition ends· Daily report of front desk duty, giving tour to visitor; condition check of works and equipment in exhibition· Keep gallery diary, make meeting minutes· PPT making for meetings and documents support for sales department, such as artists presentation and translation · Work closely with artists, galleries and other institutions, seeking consign works· Apply back-up support to the team and supervisors when required· University degree in art history, philosophy, psychology, sociology or curation· Passionate about art, can demonstrate good knowledge of contemporary art and artists· At least one-year experience in a similar role· Flexible, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Appropriate and effective communications with colleagues and clients· Well organized, thoughtful, detail-oriented and fast-paced· Have sense of time, ability to multi-task under pressure and tight deadlines· Good command in English, both oral and written· Skilled with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Sales
· Develop and retain an in-depth knowledge of gallery artists’ practices and biographies· Communicate artists’ practices & biographies with clients, curators, critics, writers, and the public in an articulate, professional manner· Act as a contact between the company and its existing and potential clients· Gather market and customer information. Respond timely to incoming emails and phone enquiries· Make every effort to develop new / potential customers and explore new business opportunities· Meet quarterly, annual sales targets set out by the company
· Bachelor degree in business administration or business related major· Over 3-year experience in Sales· Good interpersonal, coordination and communication skills. Client oriented· Strong work ethic & self-motivated· Good English speaking, skilled in computer operation· Sales experience with art works is a plus· Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
Gallery Assistant
· Generally responsible for overall gallery administrative work· Front desk duties including air/train tickets and hotel booking, domestic/overseas courier/Fedex sending-receiving· Closely work with oversea galleries to update contact list from time to time· Keep record of company contracts, general files, office equipment including computers, iPad and cameras etc, purchase stationery and consumables when needed· Manage company library, keep magazines/books/digital images in categories. · Update the current database with index and contents for easy retrieving· Basic graphic design for e-vite and e-catalogue when needed. Making drafts for products· Deal with some temporary/urgent matters including but not limited to collecting information, translating and preparing presentations· Perform any other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors
· College degree for administration, management or graphic design· Love art, can demonstrate good knowledge of contemporary art · At least one-year experience in a similar role· Familiar with office-software, ability to do graphics and product sketches with illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign or so· Well organized, thoughtful, detail-oriented and fast-paced· Have sense of time, ability to multi-task under pressure and tight deadlines· Ability to read and communicate in English
Internships
· Assist team to organize exhibitions and events· Conduct research on artists, art market, auctions, media for upcoming shows & projects · Assist PR with social media marketing, press releases and archiving· Attend internal and external events to promote the gallery · Various administrative tasks such as compiling presentations and artist files, proofreading and database entry· Previous gallery experience is not necessary, but an interest in the visual arts must be demonstrated· Strong attention to detail and time-management skills is required· Maturity and a cheerful attitude are required, as the intern will be expected to interact with guests in the gallery· The intern must welcome a challenge and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment· Good oral and written English· Experience with Mac computers and applications are expected· Graphic and 3D design skills a plus
