Alois Riegl, the established art historian from Vienna School, put forward the idea “Beholders” in his treatise “The Group Portraiture of Holland”, arguing the interaction between the beholders and works of art in the group portraits. The perception with such modern awareness may innovate, not only ways of interpretating art, but artistic creation as well. The narrative or nature of works of art calls for its interaction and consistency with the “beholders”, which comes from the resonance of the “beholders” and the echo of works of art.
The exhibition, entitled "Echo", attempts to reach out to the diverse and energetic spirit of the artists and the “beholders”. Artists’ subdomains of "Experiment", "Channel" and "Turning-around", combined with space, explore the possibilities beyond ornamental essence and narrative. At the same time, the "beholders" are introduced into the subdomain, the result of which was reconstructed for the third time and recreated to establish the unity and diversity of resonance and echo. In the field of "Echo", anyone who enters, builds a connection or breaks through and then reflects, communicates to explores the perception of the beholders or artists.
