Almine Rech Shanghai is looking for a Junior Registrar and gallery intern who is willing to gain hands-on experience in the daily operation of an international art gallery. Both roles will be working closely with the gallery staff and will be assisting in important gallery operations and events.
Junior Registrar
Primarily concerned with the movement of objects in and out of gallery inventory. Manages and tracks the inventory and international shipping and customs procedures for the gallery’s consigned, loaned, and wholly owned works of art. In frequent contact with shippers, art handlers, suppliers, storage handlers and customs officers. Maintains the art gallery’s computer database to accurately track location and sales information. Some prior experienced in the field preferred.
Inventory Control & Logistics: Organization and execution of all international (extra-EU) logistics including insurance, packing, customs, transportation, storage, installation, and dismantling relating to consignments, loans, sales, art fairs, and gallery exhibitions.
Exhibitions & Art Fairs: Lead efforts relating to the shipment, installation, maintenance, and dismantling for all art fairs, gallery exhibitions, private viewings, and other special projects as required
Facilities & Vendor Management: Oversee and direct maintenance of gallery premises and mechanicals, including control of associated suppliers, vendors, and contracts.
Logistics: Organizing the production, packing, shipping and mounting of the gallery shows in respect of the established retro planning.
Management: Manage the art handlers as well as the registrar assistant locally.
The candidate will need to have good organization skills be rigorous and knowledgeable regarding customs, preventive conservation, art insurance, loan agreements, consignments, and all documents related to the logistics (artwork list, packing list, proof of delivery, etc.)

Assist in gallery operations, exhibition preparations, and events.
Organize inventory of exhibition catalogues, office supplies, and other archival materials.
Assist in the creation of marketing materials on social media.
Assist in the translation of relevant materials.
Assist with other administrative tasks as requested by gallery staff.
具备对当代艺术及艺术史的知识储备及热情。
流畅的书面写作能力和沟通表达能力(中英双语)。
熟练运用Adobe和Office办公软件。
积极主动,团队意识强、学习能力强。
能够较快适应环境,具灵活应变的能力。
善于交流,工作认真细致负责。
Knowledge of and passion for contemporary art.
Excellent written and communication skills (Mandarin and English).
Working knowledge of Adobe and MS Office Suite.
Ability to work well under pressure, to adjust quickly to the environment and to work as a team.
Ability to prioritize and multitask with high attention to detail.
Working Hours: 11 AM - 7 PM, Tuesday - Saturday.
The duration of the internship should be at least 3 months.
