"Image" is the confluence of "pixels" at time points. In a picture with a fixed aspect ratio, these "pixels" constitute "images". What we often see is the final image. There is a running rule. Once it runs, the time will intervene, then just like a living organism, pixels move in this space, and time can also become a kind of perceptible "image", then when elements, rules, time, and space operate in a system, can our perception also transcend the informational meaning of the "image" itself? With these colorful, unique style and orderly arrangement of "pixels", artist Xiang Zhenhua's works not only stimulate the viewer's senses, but also inspire people to explore modeling and reconstruction. The exquisite artistic conception and graphic creativity displayed by the pixels are the combination of the artist's sensibility and rationality.

In this social environment that expresses emotions quickly, emoji, as the most direct element, is sent at the moment of clicking, and the receiver gets a more vivid "image" with emotions in addition to the text. Of course, the emotions themselves are fleeting. This work selects the tiger, an emoji that will be frequently used in the Chinese Year of the Tiger, and the original image is mixed into a new "image" through a program algorithm. Due to time, this "image" is different from the emotion information of the emoji itself, leading people pay attention to this new image.

As an original work of video art, each set of "Tiger" contains video and a unique collectible digital output image, the "image" of each digital output image is randomly taken from a certain frame in the video. We will adopt a "blind box" delivery method, and the collector will not know the "image" of the digital output image in advance. We maximize and preserve the fun and surprises until the moment you open the box, adding a random mystery.

 Golden Tigers

HAPPY NEW YEAR|APSMUSEUM Limited New Year Art Works Release 崇真艺客

Name:Golden Tigers

Artist:Yang Dongbai

Year:2022

Size:23x25x17cm

Material:Resin

After the famous artist Yang Dongbai launched the Five Oxen series of sculptures last year, he created the sculpture "Golden Tigers" when the Year of the Tiger is approaching. The work shows a family of tigers that are playing in groups, with a vivid expression, some majestic, some gentle, or dynamic or static, reflecting modern people's aesthetics and family values. The male tiger has wings in a romantic expression, and the overall shape is majestic and extraordinary. The family of the flying tiger means that the golden tiger is rich and powerful, bringing vitality and happiness.

In the works of artist Yang Dongbai, the tiger looks realistic, whether it is dynamic or static, and he combines humanization in his realistic style, reflecting the thinking and aesthetics of modern people. The warm picture of a group of tigers gathered together by artist Yang Dongbai is very holistic. The tiger shows a little gentleness in its mighty power, and the artistic conception created touches the viewer. While artworks stimulate viewers' emotions, viewers also carry their emotions in artworks. The artistic conception of golden tigers cuddling with each other can arouse viewers' awareness and reflect contemporary people's expectations for a happy family.

The New Book of Mountains and Seas——Cyber Apocalypse

This is a new chapter in the New Book of Mountains and Seas series: a depiction of Earth's existing endangered wildlife. "New Book of Mountains and Seas-Cyber Apocalypse" was originally collected by the Spencer Art Museum of the University of Kansas. It depicts an urban environment filled with a dystopian atmosphere by means of line drawing: the coexistence of urban high-rise buildings and mountains of garbage, all kinds of modern civilization production Monsters inhabit it, presenting the crisis of modern civilization itself with a sense of real absurdity.

Qiu Anxiong was born in 1972 in Sichuan province. He graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1994. In 2003 he graduated from the University Kassel's College of Art in Germany after six years of studying both contemporary international art and traditional Chinese culture. Now he is teaching at East China Normal University. His works employ different kinds of mediums including animation, painting, installation and video, etc. Representative works are animation films New Classic of Mountains and Seas, Temptation of the Land, Minguo Landscape, video installation Staring into Amnesia. He founded “Museum of Unkown” in 2007, which is an active power in the ecological construction of contemporary arts in recent years.

Qiu Anxiong’s recent work consists largely of paintings, animations, and  video installations. In the 2006 piece The New Classic of Mountains and Seas, for example, Qiu employs multitudes of ink drawings and links them together in an animated form. The title itself refers to the ancient Chinese mythology Classic of the Mountains and Seas. Besides investigating the interaction between ancient and modern Chinese culture, this work and others like it have a dreamlike quality: the clearly delineated images framed by unbelievable narratives faithfully depict the absurdity of the world around us. This link to the everyday further enhances the political value of the work, which engages in a damning criticism of environmental degradation, social breakdown, and massive urbanization.
