Duende Art Museum (DAM) is a non-profit public art institution in OCT Harbour PLUS, Shunde, Guangdong Province, China, which was founded by collector Ms. Wu Meiman (Mandy), and opened in 12 September 2020. The three-story exhibition hall in DAM covers an area of about 1,000 square meters and was designed by a Chinese designer Jian Junkai (Can) who worked in DUO Architects.
Upholding the concept of "Glocalisation", in the practice of contemporary art, DAM tries to integrate domestic and foreign resources, combine high-standard and diversified forms of artistic expression, establish an operation mechanism with exhibitions, academic research and public projects, and constantly promote the dialogue between tradition and contemporary, localization and globalization.
Based on the publicity of art, DAM takes sculpture and installation art as objects of observation, and uses genealogical thinking and attitudes to sort out the evolution and changes of both in historical situations, using exhibitions and archives as a way to broaden the outer edges of the concept. In the detailed archival records and documentation, DAM hopes to discover the multiple possibilities of art "presence".
