On the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2022, Wilhelm Hallen invites you to Hallen #3, an art event with an extensive program from 10–18 September 2022 under the motto ‘Reinickendorf Rules’. One of the highlights of the program is the group exhibition K60, the 15 Berlin galleries Alexander Levy, Carlier | Gebauer, ChertLüdde,Efremidis, Esther Schipper, Klosterfelde Edition, HUA International, Klemm‘s,Mehdi Chouakri, neugerriemschneider, NOME, PSM, Soy Capitán, Sprüth Magers and Sweetwater are participating in an extensive show of works.

Hua International will present the works from the artist Isabella Fürnkäs, The focal point is a durational performance and sound work that unfolds around two, large metal sculptures: dome-like constructions that resemble rudimentary dwellings. With their cage-like structures, these forms emphasize a fluidity between interior and exterior space, permeability and interiority, shelter and confinement. Entitled Ataraxia, the performance takes its name from a Greek philosophical term that means a “state of serene calmness” or “an untroubled and tranquil state of the soul.” The performers activate the sculptures—which are sheathed in thin layers of fabric and projected upon—with actions that imply moments of inhabitation, formation, and deconstruction. Their constant movements in and around the sculptures, as well as the essentially nomadic nature of these objects, gesture toward the impermanence, transience, and variability of all things—towards finding freedom in flux.
