李明 LI Ming
李明(b. 1986,沅江)现生活和工作于杭州。2008年,他于中国美术学院获得学士学位。
在李明的录像实践中,始终存在一种自导自演的工作方式。影像作为一种有效的表达手段,可以轻易改变创作动机。他习惯于将作品观念置于头脑发酵的图像结果之后,这也使得他的创作始终存在一种“即兴”的状态。与其说这种创作语境是艺术家刻意经营出的一种游戏,不如去理解为第一人称的作者正与观众一同信马由缰。
李明曾荣获 2017年“HUGO BOSS亚洲新锐艺术家大奖”以及2008年“皮埃尔•于贝尔创作提名奖大奖”。他的作品被多个重量级美术馆、私人机构及国际展会收藏和展出,如釜山双年展、皮诺帕斯卡里博物馆、Borusan当代艺术中心、深圳雕塑双年展、尤伦斯当代艺术中心等。

Li Ming (b. 1986, Yuanjiang) currently lives and works in Hangzhou. In 2008, he received his BFA from the China Academy of Art.
In Li’s video practice, one can always see a self-directed working style. As an effective means of expression, image can easily transform the motivation. He is used to putting the idea of work behind the image resulted by mind fermenting, which imbues his creative process with a permanent “impromptu” state. Rather to say this context of creation is a game where artist tried hard to build out; It is better to understand that the first-person author is letting things take their natural course.
He was awarded “HUGO BOSS ASIA ART: Award for Emerging Asian Artists” in 2017 and “Pierre Huber Creation Prize” in 2008. His work has been collected and exhibited in several major art museums, private institutions and art fairs, such as Busan Biennale, Museo Pino Pascali, Borusan Contemporary, 8th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennial, UCCA, Beijing etc.
