Critique Room艺术现场 源于工作室画廊一直以来的艺术态度，即强调艺术现场，注重交流和评论。创作者可以从与他人的交流中，梳理工作过程中的感性经验；参与者可以从他者的工作中学会观看，找到自己的角度和看法。

在第一期的Critique room艺术现场中，艺术家娄能斌与策展人姚斯青合作，带来为画廊的镜面长廊空间而创作的声音装置《宛在水中央》。作品的名称源于《诗经·蒹葭》中的名句，“所谓伊人，在水一方。溯洄从之，道阻且长。溯游从之，宛在水中央。”

创作基于线性时间总是能够被翻制为过去与未来等距的球形空间结构这一声音理论，并进而认为每个在历史中行动的个体，他们的“现时”就如同突起于时间潮汐中央的球心一样美好，因而也如同古诗的“伊人”一样值得向往。据此，艺术家根据展览场地的特质，同时制作了声音与声场。声音的音源来自海关大楼在不同时期的两种钟声，并将潮汐现象的相关数据进行声学转换，组成有规律的镜像赋格。通过定向音响设备的现场播放，声场将会随着观众的到来而产生变化，当行为加入了时间的混响，“宛在水中央”的主体观照亦被触发。

Critique Room originates from the Studio Gallery's long-standing artistic attitude, which emphasizes the art scene and focuses on communication and critique. Artists can sort out the perceptual experience of the working process from the communication with others; participants can learn to watch and find their own perspective and viewpoint from the work of others.

In the Critique room 1, artist Lou Nengbin collaborated with curator Yao Siqing to bring the sound installation "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" created for the gallery's mirrored promenade space. The name of the work comes from the famous sentence in "The Reed", —Where's she I need, beyond the stream. Upstream I go, the way is long. Downstream I go, she's there among.

The creation is based on linear time, and the sound theory is translated into a spherical space structure equidistant from the past and future. The future believes that each individual is acting in history. Their present is as beautiful as the sphere's center protruding from the center of the tide of time. Therefore also Just like the "Yiren" in ancient Chinese poems, it is worth yearning for. The artist created the sound and sound field at the same time according to the characteristics of the exhibition site. The sound source comes from two kinds of bells of the customs building in different periods, and the related data of the tidal phenomenon is acoustically converted to form a regular mirror fugue. Through the live broadcast of the directional sound equipment, the sound field will change with the audience's arrival. The subject's observation of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" is also triggered when the reverberation of time is added to the behavior.

姚斯青博士，毕业于中央美术学院人文学院及中山大学中文系，前高校讲师。

现为定居北京的独立学者与策展人。

Dr.Yao Siqing graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts-School of Humanities and Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University, Former college lecturer.

Currently, live in Beijing and work as an independent scholar and curator.

工作室画廊2016初成立于上海。作为上海最早支持国际艺术家驻留项目的商业画廊。目前经营着两处实体空间，画廊空间专注于艺术家的工作呈现与推广；工作室空间作为画廊空间的学术引擎，聚焦于非营利性的艺术项目与研究记录。

工作室画廊不是简单意义上的画廊空间+工作室空间；而是一种对艺术生产和消费机制的重构。通过对艺术家工作状态的深入观察，探究其艺术创作的真实动机；努力协助艺术家把工作中产生的价值转化成共识。

自成立以来，工作室画廊除了举办专业性的展览，还发起了多个话题性的艺术项目：基于艺术家工作过程记录的《艺术家讨论》；基于艺术家驻留工作汇报的《OpenStudio》；基于艺术家创作交流以及评论的《艺术现场》和《Critique Room》。

Established in Shanghai in early 2016, Studio Gallery operates two physical spaces. The gallery space focuses on the presentation and promotion of artists' work; the studio space, as the academic engine of the gallery, focuses on non-profit art research and documentation. As the first Shanghai Gallery to host a residency, we thrive on connecting the Chinese Contemporary art scene internationally.

Studio Gallery is not a gallery space + studio space in a surface sense; it is a reconstruction of the art production and consumption mechanism. Through in-depth observation of the artist's work status, we will explore the true motives of his artistic creation and strive to assist the artist in transforming the value generated in work into consensus.

Since its establishment, in addition to holding professional exhibitions, Studio Gallery has also launched several topical art projects: “Artist Talk", based on the record of the artist's work process; “Open Studio", based on the work report of the artist's residency; based on the artist's creation "Art Scene" and “Critique Room" for communication and discussion.
