天线空间荣誉宣布,伦敦泰特现代美术馆Tate Modern)将刘窗作品《比特币矿和少数民族田野录音》(2018)纳入永久收藏。

刘窗的这部三频影像装置创作于2018年,由蓬皮杜艺术中心和毛继鸿基金会委任和支持,首展于成都“Cosmopolis #1.5:国际都市双年展”,之后巡展于亚洲和欧洲的诸多展览,获得了全球艺术界的广泛关注。

Antenna Space is pleased to announce that Liu Chuang’s Bitcoin Mining and Field Recordings of Ethnic Minorities (2018) has been acquired by the Tate Modern, London, UK. 

Artist Liu Chuang created this three-channel video in 2018, it was first exhibitied at Cosmopolis #1.5: Enlarged Intelligence in Collaboration in Chengdu, with the commisioned and support of Centre Pompidou and Mao Jihong Art Foundation. Then the Bitcoin Mining and Field Recordings of Ethnic Minorities (2018) took part in many exhibitions in Asia and Europe and have gained wide attention globally.

《比特币矿和少数民族田野录音》(2018)这部影片在技术、基础设施、生态和金融的历史中开启了一个思辨性的旅程,并将其与人类学的知识生产和科幻电影的全球想象力编织在一起,在其间构建横向的认识论联系。在影片的标题中,两个并列的主题不可思议的拼接预告了它的论点:资本由于对边界的无尽拓展,正在从地缘政治的深时深空中创造新的接触区。比特币诞生于受反文化运动及New Age影响的加州意识形态,而它高能耗的基础设施与大气的涌动耦合,以季节性游牧的方式部署在人类学田野调查的边疆。这一进程,古代帝国的神经网络悄然形变,演化成为现代民族国家的基础设施,并被纳入到由田野知识的数据采集和资本的前沿部署所形成的递归式闭环之中,为它提供了更平滑的空间,少数族裔的智能在越来越多的采掘模式中变得脆弱,进一步影响到整个行星的命运。

Bitcoin Mining and Field Recordings of Ethnic Minorities (2018) starts a critical journey throughout the history of technology, infrastrucutre, ecology and finance. This speculative journey has connected itself with anthropolocial ideology and global context of sci-fi cinema. Within the title of this film, combination of two unexpected themes reveal its thesis: Due to the endless border expansion, capital is creating new expending area from the deep time and space of geopolitics. Bitcoin was created under the California ideology, which influenced by the counter-culture movement and the New Age. Its energy-intensive infrastrucutre coupling with atmospheric surges, and located at the anthropological field. In this evolution process, the neural network of the ancient empire quietly deformed and tranformed into the infrastructure of modern society. It integrated into a recursive closed loop formed by the data collection of field knowledge and the forward deployment of capital that providing it with a smoother space, in which minority interlligence becomes vulnerable in an increasingly extractive model, further affecting the fate of the planet as a whole.

刘窗 Liu Chuang


刘窗(b. 1978, 天门)2001年毕业于湖北美术学院油画系,现生活工作于上海。他的作品包括移动影像、雕塑、现成品和装置。刘窗的作品通常将长时段的历史和生态弧结合起来进行想象,追踪当代中国的社会、文化和经济转型。他编织了连接微观和宏观、过去和现在、虚构和现实的叙事,探讨了自然、传统、人口、尖端技术和社会经济体系的巨大而复杂的变化如何影响个人以及他们与整个世界的接触。

Liu Chuang (b. 1978, Tianmen) currently lives and works in Shanghai. In 2001, he received his BA from the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. Liu Chuang works primarily with film, sculpture, readymade and installation. His works often integrate long-term history and ecological arc for imagination, tracing the social, cultural and economic transformations of contemporary China. Weaving narratives that connect the micro and macro, past and present, fiction and reality, Liu Chuang explores how vast and complex changes in nature, tradition, demographics, cutting-edge technology, and socio-economic systems affect individuals and their engagements with the world as a whole.
