H Gallery 宣布即将欣然呈现2023开年首展：叶澜「一个人的岛」BODY LIFE，展览将于2023年2月24日正式开幕。
叶澜以“人体手稿”作为日记已超过二十年，这已成为她主要并且持续的系列创作之一。形式从简的作品却引起人们对视觉极限的关注，同时试图扩展画面所引发的无言思想。

Yelan has been exploring Human Manuscripts as a medium of perception for more than twenty years, and it has became one of her main and continuous series of creations. Her formally simple works draw attention to the limits of seeing while seeking to expand the wordless thought that they provoke.

“创作的路从来不是平坦的，从灵感乍现到完成惊喜是一个行走在浪尖上的感觉，不能停留片刻，不能自我欣赏，只能专注其中生长，走出来的时候作品已完成，回不去了。”
"The creative process is never smooth. From the moment of inspiration to the surprise of completion, it is a feeling of walking on the crests of waves. You cannot stop for an instant, you cannot appreciate yourself, you can only focus on the creation and let it grow. When you emerge from this process, the artwork is finished and you cannot go back."

“有次梦里：我在一座陌生的城市举办个展。开幕时我独自外出散步，意外地遇到隔壁的艺术展，使我惊喜，我也立刻意识到隔壁的艺术即我预见的作品，醒来已忘作品的具体模样，只警醒自己不断创新！”
"Once in a dream I held a solo exhibition in an unfamiliar city. On the opening day I went out for a walk and was surprised to see that an art exhibition was also being held next door. Upon entering this exhibition I immediately realized that the paintings exhibited were my own future works. When I woke up I had forgotten the details of the paintings. Nevertheless, this dream encouraged me to continue to explore new ideas in my works!"

关于《人体》| About Figure Painting
“随时随处地观察人，让我理解什么是青春和生命力。我爱观看舞蹈表演，一段舞蹈好像可以看尽人的一生，精神的孤独、挣扎、探索、喜悦、无意义和周而复始，也从每个舞者看到了不同人生的角色在自我世界中的追寻，从新生至衰老。身体的躯壳从青春叙述到干枯成一副骨架或骨灰，抑或在某处腐烂，寄居在躯壳里的真有灵魂吗？有很多生命死后对我们仍然产生影响，甚至是从未谋面但仅从一本书的文字里找到精神的知己。
对人体本身的喜爱就是美，太美和值得思考。人会面对一个赤裸的自己，可能会很眷恋，若面对精神也是赤裸的自己仍然喜欢，那么躯壳易腐青春不再又如何？”
"Observing people anytime and anywhere has helped me understand youth and vitality. Dance performances in particular often draw my attention and love. A powerful piece of dance can convey a person’s entire existence: spiritual loneliness, struggle, exploration, joy, meaninglessness, and the cycle of life. A dancer has the ability to portray different characters’ lives through their own perspective and purpose, from the newborn to the old.
The body, as a shell for the spirit, journeys from youth until it reaches its end, whether that be as a skeleton, ash, or a decay into nothing. Is there really a soul living in this shell? There are many lives that can still affect us after their deaths. Through the words of a book, we can sense the spirit of someone we have never encountered and whose time has long since passed.
People love the human body for its beauty. This love is worth reflecting on. When one faces their naked self, they might feel a deep sense of affection for their body. But if one is confronted with their own naked spirit, will they feel the same degree of affection? As time moves on and the body ages until its eventual passage, will you mind?"

关于艺术家 | About Artist
叶澜 Yelan
叶澜从中学开始学习水墨画和岩彩画，同时接受西方艺术教育，2000年考入中国人民大学，四年后获得文学学士学位，专攻水墨人物专业。
Yelan began studying ink and mineral color painting in middle school while receiving a western art education. Upon completing high school, Yelan was accepted in 2000 into Renmin University in Beijing for a Bachelor of Literature with a specialization in ink painting.

叶澜的艺术灵感深深扎根于丰富的自然界和众多的知识领域，包含哲学和文学及心理学等，佛道思想对叶澜及其作品也产生了同样深远的影响。1995年至1999年创作了佛像岩彩系列，全部作品收藏和展示于台湾高雄私人博物馆。

Yelan's artistic inspiration is deeply rooted in the rich nature and the knowledge of the world, including philosophy, literature and psychology, etc. Buddhism and Taoism philosophy have also dumped Ye Lan and her works. From 1995 to 1999, a Taiwanese private museum purchased a series of Buddhist paintings from Yelan while she was attending high school.

2018年上海文汇出版社出版叶澜绘著的《自然而然》作品集，书的内容包含叶澜绘画随笔以及二十四年间创作的代表作品。另外作品曾刊登于《新民晚报》，《外滩画报》，《上海艺术家工作室》，《田子坊艺术家群落》，《中国人民大学水墨创作展作品集》等出版物。
2005年在上海田子坊成立叶澜工作室，2007年移至威海路696号，2009年再次搬到莫干山路M50文化创意园区至今。
重生 Rebirth 2023

In 2018 Yelan had her first book, 自然而然, published in Shanghai. This book includes a collection of Yelan's articles, poems, and artwork. In addition, her works have been published in "Xinmin Evening News," "Bund Pictorial," "Shanghai Artist Studio," "Tianzifang Artist Group," "Chinese Renmin University Ink Creation Exhibition Collection," and other publications.
In 2005, Yelan established her first studio in Shanghai at Tianzifang, followed by a studio at Weihai Road in 2007. In 2009, Yelan moved her studio to its current location at 50 Moganshan Road.
