An Ge (China)

原名彭振戈，生于1947年，祖籍广东省揭西县，现居广州。摄影记者、策展人。

An Ge's birth name is Peng Zhenge, born in 1947. His ancestral home is Jiexi County, Guangdong Province. He lives in Guangzhou and works as a photojournalist and curator.

安哥，原名彭振戈，被称作“80 年代以来中国摄影绕不开的人”。几十年中拍下了十几万张珍贵的底片，他以平民化的视角，碎片式的记录，充满张力而趣味十足的时代日常，展现一幕幕与时代相连却又超脱其上的视觉寓意，记录时代、进入时代，又独立于时代。此次展出安哥拍摄于广州的一系列摄影作品，展现广州过往的生活百态和时代风貌。“在我所熟悉所生活的城市——广州，我一直着意地记录着这里的百样人生，纪录着各种市民生活的片断。这些互相之间并无联系的镜头并联在一起时，却能最有机地反映一个时代一座城市的生活风貌。”

An Ge, formerly known as Peng Zhenge, has been called "a man inseparable from Chinese photography since the 1980s". He has captured more than 100,000 precious negatives over the past few decades. With his common folk perspectives, fragmented records, and tension-filled, fascinating daily routines of those times, he presents a visual allegory that is connected to the era but transcends it, recording the times, entering the times, yet somehow independent of them. This exhibition features a series of photographs taken by An Ge in Guangzhou, showing the milieu of Guangzhou's past. "In Guangzhou, the city I know and live in, I have always been interested in recording all kinds of life here, various slices of normal people's lives. When these unconnected shots are juxtaposed, they constitute the most organic reflection of an era in the city's life."
