“外来者”一词于1765年被威廉·布莱克斯通描述为“出生在国王领土之外的人”，这一部分人有着群体的特征，却独立于群体的权威感之外，有自己的思考脉络和行为导向，对“领土”环境抱有清醒认知和合理怀疑。因此，“外来者”的意义，常常是解决机械、麻木、动荡等社会危机，建立一套新的信仰体系，并逐步培养更多的思想认同，取代“领土”内原有的“内生者”，等待新的“外来者”。

艺术在社会中的力量，便是“外来者”的力量。在一个日益趋同，边界模糊的环境中，艺术能够打开人的身心，保持感性认知和独立意识。

“空间介入的创作”在艺术中的力量，也是“外来者”的力量。在足不出户便可晓天下，网络通畅便能知冷暖的现代社会，人们越来越习惯于窝在家里，或是困在公司。“空间介入的创作”能够提醒人们将敏锐的观察放于真实的自然，与日常生活中的所见所感产生联结，同时，“空间介入的创作”还被赋予了文化现象和文化直觉的特殊性，因为它并非艺术家个人的关切和感知，更是观众情感共鸣的体现。

此次在ABI SPACE的展览“外来者实验”，是汤南南“空间介入创作实践”的课程展。汤南南将自己于山水精神的思考和关切融汇于空间实践中，鼓励学生脱离工作室的束缚，在自然现场和社会空间中寻找创作的可能，充分调动感官情绪，关心世间万物，创作出更有体悟，更有力量的作品。

10位参展的“外来者”，从自身的体验出发，将发现的视野释放到周遭的世界，投身于杭州各处生活空间中，用自己的行为和创作调动环境中蕴藏的可能性。他们的“实验”，因环境而生，借空间而作，是对想象力和创造力如何作用于原本平静的西湖、雪山、森林的实验，也是对感知力和经验感觉如何带动周围的居民和社会的实验。

Outsider was described by William Blackstone in 1765 as "those who were born outside the king's domain", the outsider has the same personality traits as the group has, but is independent of the sense of authority and has its own thinking Contextual and Behavior-Oriented, with a clear understanding and reasonable doubts about the "territorial" environment. Therefore, the meaning of "outsiders" is often to solve social crises such as mechanization, numbness, and social chaos, establish a new belief system, and gradually cultivate more ideological identities, replacing the original "endogenous" in the "territory" , waiting for the new "outsiders".

The power of Art in society is the power of "Outsiders". In an increasingly homogeneous environment with blurred boundaries, art can open people's minds and feelings, and make them maintain perceptual cognition and independent consciousness.

The power of "Creation Intervening in Space" in art is also the power of "outsiders". In a modern society where one can know the world on the internet without leaving home, people are more and more used to staying at home or being trapped in the company. "Creation Intervening in Space" can remind audience to put the keen observation on the real nature and connect with what they see and feel in daily life. At the same time, "Creation Intervening in Space" is endowed with the particularity of cultural phenomena and cultural intuition , because it is not the artist's personal concern and perception, but the embodiment of the audience's emotional resonance.

The exhibition "Outsiders’ Practice" at ABI SPACE is a course exhibition of Tang Nannan's " Practice of Creation Intervening in Space". Tang Nannan integrated his thoughts and concerns about the spirit of landscape into his space practice, encouraging his students to break away from the shackles of the studios, to find the possibility of creation in the natural scene and social atmosphere, fully mobilize the senses and emotions, caring about everything in the world, and create more experienced and powerful artworks.

The 10 artists starting from their own experience, released their vision of discovery to the surrounding world, devoted themselves to the living spaces in various places in Hangzhou, and mobilized the possibilities contained in the environment with their own behaviors and creations. Their "Practice" born out of the environment and space, focusing on how imagination and creativity act on the originally peaceful West Lake, snow-capped mountains, and forests, and how perception and experience drive the surrounding residents and social experiment.

“线”在生活中随处可见，作为区分等级、公私、看与被看的工具，生活开始产生分裂，我们也逐渐被困在一根根“线条”中。艺术家意识到“线”的存在，并试图发掘和展现它在自然和空间中的另一个作用——连接。

"Line" can be seen everywhere in life, as a means to distinguish between hierarchy, public and private, seeing and being seen. Life begins to split, and we are gradually trapped in each "line". The artist is aware of the existence of "line", trying to discover and show its other role in nature and space - connection.

我们所经历的旅途就是在泥泞中前行，素未谋面的引舟人，被加塞的一切物件自带着一段特有的记忆。或一路到底，或被阻碍磕绊，或自行下船为过客云烟。舟空之时，归于尘土，留下满是泥泞和过往残余，还有一段即将模糊的意识。

The journey we have experienced is to move forward in the mud- a boat guide who has never met and everything that is blocked has a unique memory. We have to choose, either all the way to the end, or being hindered and stumbled, or getting off the boat by itself as a passer-by. When the boat is empty, it returns to the dust, leaving behind mud and remnants of the past, and a consciousness that is about to blur.

“如果我只有在小房间里才会有安全感，是我主动锁住自己，还是被困住了呢？”

此次展出的作品是艺术家在英国的作品Finding Home的系列影像。艺术家带着自己的行李箱辗转了很多国家——韩国、英国、中国，寻找一种别人口中的“归属感”。借用无家可归者的“移动式家”的概念，希望能够激发观众重新思考“家”的含义。

"If I only feel safe in a small room, do I lock myself up, or am I trapped?"

The work exhibited is a series of videos of the artist's work Finding Home in the UK. The artist took her own suitcase and traveled to many countries - South Korea, the United Kingdom and China, looking for a "sense of belonging" as others say. Borrowing the concept of the "mobile home" of the homeless, it is hoped that this work will inspire viewers to rethink the meaning of "home".
