2023年2月28日,第47届英国奥利弗奖公布了提名名单,颁奖典礼将于4月2日在皇家阿尔伯特音乐厅举行,由曾经出演《悲惨世界》《权力的游戏》的女演员汉娜·沃丁厄姆担任主持。
首次参演话剧的女演员朱迪·科默凭借着《初步举证》提名最佳女主角奖项;在今年第95届奥斯卡中提名最佳男主角的保罗·麦斯卡,凭借着复排版《欲望号街车》首次提名奥利弗最佳男主角奖项。
改编自宫崎骏同名电影的舞台剧《龙猫》在本次奥利弗奖中获得了包括最佳导演、最佳女主角、最佳舞美设计、最佳服装设计、最佳声音设计在内的九项提名;英国国家剧院所制作的六部剧目《站在天空的边缘》《阿拉巴马天空的蓝调》《萨勒姆的女巫》《费德拉》等获得了共十六项提名。
舞台美术方面,《杀死一只知更鸟》《龙猫》《站在天空的边缘》《杰克与仙豆》角逐最佳舞美设计;《初步举证》《欲望号街车》《龙猫》《萨勒姆的女巫》角逐最佳灯光设计;《阿拉巴马天空的蓝调》《杰克与仙豆》《尚-保罗·高缇耶时尚怪胎秀》《龙猫》争夺最佳服装设计;《站在天空的边缘》《龙猫》《俄克拉荷马!》《初步举证》角逐最佳声音设计。本篇主要介绍《龙猫》《初步举证》《站在天空的边缘》这三部优秀的舞台作品。
英国皇家莎士比亚剧团(Royal Shakespeare Company;简称RSC)所出品的舞台剧《龙猫》于去年10月在伦敦巴比肯艺术中心首演。本剧由汤姆·莫顿-史密斯(Tom Morton-Smith)担任剧本改编、菲利姆·麦克德莫特(Phelim McDermott)执导、汤姆·彼耶(Tom Pye)担任舞美设计、中野金美(Kimie Nakano)担任服装设计、Jessica Hung Han Yun担任灯光设计、巴兹尔·特维斯(Basil Twist)担任木偶设计。
早在今年2月12日所举办的第二十三届WhatsOnStage Awards的颁奖典礼中,《龙猫》便斩获了最佳导演、最佳舞美设计、最佳灯光设计、最佳声音设计和最佳音乐指导/监督五个奖项,英国皇家莎士比亚剧团与宫崎骏强强联合,高度还原了电影的细节,使观众在剧场中仿佛置身于电影所描绘的神奇世界。

为了离生病母亲所在的医院近一些,小月、小梅两姐妹和他们的父亲举家搬到了农村,当小梅探索森林时,意外遇见神奇的龙猫。小月起初不相信妹妹的奇遇,但在一个雨天,小月也见到了这只龙猫,她们踏上了一场充满着童趣的冒险。

故事发生在上世纪50年代的日本,彼时日本受西方文化的影响,尝试将西方风格的建筑与日本建筑传统相融合。

在舞台剧《千与千寻》中面临的最大问题是二维和三维的处理问题,在《龙猫》中亦然。比如猫巴士带着小月寻找小梅,在乡野中疾走的情节,设计团队特意先用二维效果来预演了这个片段,来寻找最佳的解决方案。

动画片中小月和小梅遇到灰尘精灵时,灰尘精灵迅速地躲在角落中消失,但在舞台剧中灰尘精灵却是缠绕在小梅身边,视觉效果更为集中。


舞台设计有着强移动性,创造了丝滑的流动感。宗教元素的使用更为这个童话故事模糊了现实与梦境的边界。

在本剧中的最大亮点大龙猫制作过程中,巴兹尔·特维斯选择了轻量级的制作材料,以防其过重造成演员演出上的不便。

至于全剧的最大亮点龙猫,也许要等到该剧在国内演出之际才能揭晓。
《初步举证》

《初步举证》由苏茜·米勒(Suzie Miller)编剧,贾斯汀·马丁(Justin Martin)执导、米里亚姆·布埃特(Miriam Buether)担任舞美和服装设计、娜塔莎·奇弗斯(Natasha Chivers)担任灯光设计。

该剧是一出女性独角戏,工人家庭出身的女律师泰莎是一名女律师,她经常为性侵案的被告方辩护。在她达到职业的巅峰之后,却成为了坐在原告席上的人。身处父权制法律的谎言之中,究竟该如何破局?

三面密密麻麻,从地板堆积到天花板的卷宗书架、皮椅、长桌构成了泰莎的活动场所,也直接反映出主人公的身份与气质——赫赫有名、不近人情的明星律师,此时泰莎的世界是冷静而有秩序的;剧目的后半部泰莎的世界变得混乱无序,几乎没有布景,因此灯光显得格外重要。

为了解决让打在泰莎身上的灯光不至于太白,并且让观众聚焦于泰莎而不是后面的书架,下半场时团队在两侧装满了ETC Lustr 2s ,在“雨幕”这场戏中在台下安装了XBars以便提供背光。娜塔莎·奇弗斯打造了亮眼的“五彩斑斓的白”。
《站在天空的边缘》
Standing at the Sky’s Edge
英国国家剧院(The National Theatre)所出品的音乐剧《站在天空的边缘》于今年2月演出。本剧由克里斯·布什(Chris Bush)编剧、理查德·霍利作曲、罗伯特·哈斯蒂 (Robert Hastie )执导、本·斯通(Ben Stones)担任舞美设计与服装设计、马克·亨德森(Mark Henderson)担任灯光设计。
这是一封写给谢菲尔德的情书。在故事中的1960年,已婚夫妇哈里和罗斯搬进来,身为工人的他们住进这个充满希望的社会住房开启新生活;1989年,乔伊和她的表兄弟逃离利比里亚后定居公园山,庄园已经年久失修;2015年,伤心欲绝的伦敦中产阶级波比来到公园山,试图重新开始。生动展现了英国现代史。

谢菲尔德公园山目前是欧洲最大的遗产保护建筑。舞美设计以公园山为原型,红砖幕墙与裸露的混凝土、空中廊桥被尽最大程度还原于舞台之上,是对野兽派庄园风格的巧妙诠释。

“I Love You, Will U Marry Me”的霓虹灯牌挂在观众席上方,这句标语的灵感正来源于现实生活中公园山天桥中的一句标语,这句标语曾火遍全英国,复制品被谢菲尔德大学的教授带到威尼斯双年展参展。这句话不仅仅是一句告白,更是对当时时代人们的精神鼓舞。

不同时代的家庭故事在同一栋楼中上演,同一空间被泾渭分明地划开。

个体情感的背后,是对时代的叹息感。《站在天空的边缘》对个人以及我们生存和发展的深刻探索。
