高台新展｜费利佩·罗梅罗·贝尔特兰摄影个展—方言 DIALECT

高台当代艺术中心荣幸宣布代理哥伦比亚摄影师Felipe Romero Beltrán（费利佩·罗梅罗·贝尔特兰），并将在4月17日开幕艺术家首次画廊个展。

Felipe Romero Beltrán（费利佩·罗梅罗·贝尔特兰）是2023年最新FOAM保罗·霍夫奖（Foam Paul Huf Award）的获得者，也是2022年光圈摄影奖（Aperture Portfolio Prize）获得者，1992年出生于西班牙波哥大，现居西班牙马德里。作为一名纪实摄影师，专注于社会问题记录。

此次个展展出的《方言Dialect》系列中，费利佩深入挖掘一群翻越海峡，从摩洛哥进入西班牙的未成年移民群体的生活、回忆、经历和梦想，他们在西班牙塞维利亚的处所等待着移民身份的合法化，费利佩在此处记录下这些年轻人的身份建构和自我表达。

这组作品包括深思熟虑的景物照，当地的建筑珍品，以及一群年轻人的生动肖像，交替呈现出或安静，或狂欢，或沉思的情感。费利佩的这组创作并没有呈现出隐喻或困顿，而是向观众展现了Youssef、Hamza、Bilal和其他年轻人在塞利维亚的生活细节，他们在费利佩的镜头下变成了有名字的角色。

这些年轻人在作品的创作和展示中也有发言权：费利佩用数码相机拍摄，并与他的创作对象进行分享，如果他们不喜欢照片，他就会把它们删除。他们之间的合作是相互的、动态的，有时也很复杂。他的系列作品超越了纪实摄影的范畴，包括不仅是年轻人不喜欢并决定重拍的时刻，还是他们在镜头前对有关过去经历和梦想的演绎。

「方言Dialect」为这群年轻人提供了机会，记录下他们在成年期前的生存状态：他们慵懒地玩耍，互相漂白头发，在一张照片中，一个年轻人坐在堆叠的轮胎上撑起一面镜子，他的另一个同伴蹲在满是灰尘的地面上挤痘痘……费利佩镜头下的人物活力和年轻气息成功地转移了观众的注意力，使他们不再注意到周围的混凝土地面、生锈的双层床和黯淡的庭院。尽管这些男孩之间存在差异，但费利佩的照片中弥漫着一种喧闹的同袍情谊，揭示了陌生人在分享生活状态的剧变时形成的强烈纽带。

Gaotai Gallery is honoured to announce the representation of Colombian photographer Felipe Romero Beltrán and to present his first solo exhibition titled DIALECT at the gallery, opening on April 17th.

Felipe Romero Beltrán, born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1992 and currently based in Madrid, Spain, is the Foam Paul Huf Award winner in 2023, and the Aperture Portfolio Prize winner in 2022. As a documentary photographer, he focuses on recording social issues.

In his series DIALECT, which will be exhibited in this solo show, Felipe delves into the lives, memories, experiences, and dreams of a group of underage immigrants who crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from Morocco into Spain. They are waiting for their immigration status to be legalized in Seville, Spain, and Felipe documents their identity construction and self-expression in this place.

The series includes carefully composed landscape shots, local architectural treasures, and vivid portraits of young people, showing their emotions of quietness, celebration, and contemplation. Felipe's work does not present metaphors or dilemmas but displays Youssef, Hamza, Bilal, and other young people's life details in Seville, making them named characters through his lens.

These young people also have a say in the creation and presentation of the works. Felipe uses a digital camera to take pictures and shares them with his subjects. If they do not like the photos, he deletes them. Their collaboration is mutual, dynamic, and sometimes complicated. His series goes beyond the scope of documentary photography, covering moments that young people dislike and decide to retake and their performances in front of the camera about past experiences and future dreams.
