—— 一个以展览为内容的展览
学生时代的数学作业本上,我们常常会看到一种叫“一题多解”的题目,这是一种通过多途径获得同一问题最终结论的题目类型,通常是为了锻炼学生的思维发散能力,消解单一、标准化的参考答案。“一问三答”系列策展,即是一个对展览普遍标准化生产机制现象的探索实验,探索在不同角色的主导下,不同策展思维带给同一对象、同一作品内容的不同呈现面貌。
在复杂的现实条件下,艺术的理想总会被不断挑战,被迫收缩,没有绝对的理想化创作,也没有绝对的理想化策展。“妥协”是我们常常会面临的,无论是对艺术家、策展人、美术馆……还是观众。对于策展而言,“理想”的妥协带来了一个熟悉的命题:“强策展”or“弱策展”。或许我们会更多的在群展中看到“强策展”的身影,而较少会体现在艺术家的个展之中,原因是对于个展而言,艺术家侧重于展现的是自我观念到作品的落成的过程,而策展人则更关注从作品中提取观念,打开新的视野维度。本次展览项目同样也是回应此议题:是主动“放权”,给艺术家自由,成全艺术家心中的“理想展览”?还是全面把控,引导干预,落实策展人观点的“理想化传达”?
基于此,我们提出了“一问三答”中的“一问”:一个理想中的“完美”个展是什么样子的?异于数学题具有同一参考答案的“解”,“一问三答”给出的是三种思维下完全不同且开放的“答”。标准解析不是“问”的目的,挖掘与探讨才是“答”的意义所在……
In our school math workbooks, we often see a type of problem called "one question, multiple answers." This is a problem that can be solved through various approaches, with the same final conclusion. It is usually designed to exercise students' divergent thinking ability and to dispel the notion of a single, standardized answer. The "One Question, Three Answers" exhibition series is an experimental exploration of the commonly standardized production mechanisms in exhibitions. It aims to explore how different curatorial perspectives can bring different presentation facets to the same object or work.
In the complex reality of art creation and curation, ideals are constantly challenged and forced to shrink. There is no absolute idealization in art creation or curation, and compromises are often necessary. This brings up a familiar proposition for curators: "strong curation" or "weak curation." Perhaps we will see more of "strong curation" in group exhibitions and less in solo exhibitions by artists. This is because for solo exhibitions, artists focus on presenting their own ideas and the process of their work's completion, while curators are more concerned with extracting concepts from the work and opening up new dimensions of perspective.
This exhibition project also responds to this issue: should we proactively "delegate power" and give artists the freedom to fulfill their ideal exhibitions, or should we comprehensively control and guide their exhibitions to achieve the curator's ideal communication? Based on this, we propose the "one question" in "One Question, Three Answers": What does a "perfect" solo exhibition look like in an ideal world? Unlike math problems with a single reference answer, "One Question, Three Answers" provides three different and open "answers" from three different perspectives. The purpose of the question is not to find a standard answer, but to explore and discuss the meaning behind the answers.

“周鱼鲜是硕士”
是的,第一回展览名称里的“周鱼鲜”,就是此次展览项目的艺术家,他的本科及硕士专业均为市场营销,现在,他成为了一个广告从业者,最近听说又将目光投向了婚庆策划行业。到这里,我们已然发现,在周鱼鲜的履历中并没有直接与艺术相关联的内容,在周鱼鲜对自己的身份认知当中,他也并不认为自己是艺术家,不觉得自己在做的事是所谓的艺术作品或艺术行为。他说,他在做的是一个信息实验,他在用自己的信息给自己相亲。
“周鱼鲜是硕士”是他的第五个信息。在此之前,周鱼鲜已经做了4个个人信息项目,分别是“周鱼鲜是男的”、“周鱼鲜是苏E”、“周鱼鲜不吸烟”以及“周鱼鲜有纹身”。我们可以看到,周鱼鲜习惯于用直接有效的主谓宾结构来为自己构成一个传播信息,他放弃了定语、状语、补足语这一类修饰性的文词内容,拒绝迂回,以最简单且最直白的方式去剖析自己作为一个相亲者时,最底层的信息。在当下这样一个信息爆炸的时代中,充斥着太多无用的信息废料,华丽堆砌却又言之无物,作为一个广告从业者,周鱼鲜敏锐的意识到了这个颠倒的现象,所以拒绝迂回,成为了周鱼鲜创作的中心以及态度。在此次展览项目中,他同样延续了这个一贯的做法,从冗长的表达中抽取出真正有用的实用信息,以他擅长的广告传播学的方式,对展览内容进行粗旷的、“病毒式”的填充。
"Zhou Yuxian is Master"
Yes, "Zhou Yuxian" in the exhibition title is the artist behind this exhibition project. He majored in Marketing for both his undergraduate and graduate studies, and now works in the advertising industry. Recently, he has set his sights on the wedding planning industry. Maybe you can‘t see a direct connection between Zhou Yuxian's resume and the art world. In his own understanding of his identity, he doesn't consider himself an artist, nor does he think what he's doing is a work of art or an artistic activity. He said that he is conducting an information experiment, using his own information to go on blind dates.
"Zhou Yuxian is Master" is his fifth piece of information. Prior to this, Zhou Yuxian has already done four personal information projects, which are "Zhou Yuxian is male," "Zhou Yuxian is from Suzhou," "Zhou Yuxian doesn't smoke," and "Zhou Yuxian has tattoos." Zhou Yuxian's approach to creating these projects is to use a simple and direct subject-verb-object structure, without the use of adjectives, adverbs, or complements. He aims to convey the most fundamental information about himself as a person going on blind dates. In a society where verbosity is prevalent but meaning is scarce, Zhou Yuxian rejects the use of unnecessary language and embraces a straightforward approach to communication. In his latest exhibition project, Zhou Yuxian continues this approach by extracting useful and practical information from lengthy expressions and filling the exhibition content with his "rough and viral" advertising communication skills.
