继2020年《在各处》和2021年《借体》两次展览合作后，工作室画廊荣幸宣布代理艺术家王玉钰，并将于今年11月的上海西岸艺术与设计博览会呈现艺术家王玉钰的最新作品。同时，艺术家的全新个人项目也将于2023年在工作室画廊呈现。

After cooperating with two exhibitions(There in 2020 and Somatic Attunement in 2021), Studio Gallery is pleased to announce the representation of artist Yuyu Wang, who will present her latest work at the 2023 Shanghai West Bund Art & Design. Meanwhile, a new individual project of the artist will be shown in the Studio Gallery in 2023.

王玉钰1991年出生于山西太原，2016年于伦敦大学学院斯莱德纯艺术学院雕系获硕士学位。目前作为独立艺术家主要工作于上海。

Born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province in 1991, Yuyu Wang received her master's degree in sculpture from the Slade School of Art, University College London in 2016. Currently working as an independent artist in Shanghai.

王玉钰的创作实践以雕塑为核心，围绕身体与物体“运动”的阈限状态而展开。在社会分工愈加精细、工业与科技愈加精进的时代之下，艺术家以身体为主要线索，去寻找并捕捉人类肉身所散发出的那些迷惑而混沌的气息；通过硅胶，布料，金属等材料去构建脱离于身体的另一个框架，把观者带入具体现实；不同的材质蕴含了不同的个体情感，唤起的是更为亲密的观察与思考。

Yuyu Wang's creative practice centers on sculpture, focusing on the threshold state of "movement" between the body and objects. In an era of increasingly specialized division of labor industrial and technological advancements, the artist uses the body as the main clue to seek and capture the perplexing and chaotic breath emitted by the human flesh. Using silicone, fabric, and metal to construct another framework detached from the body, bringing the viewer into a concrete reality. Different materials contain different individual emotions, evoking a more intimate observation and contemplation.

艺术家的雕塑作品通过不同媒介（图像，材料，文字，行为，声音等）的结合，将我们置身于熟悉又陌生的场景之中，去探索那些存在于城市，自然，影视场景中的“无名”人造景观，去探索特定场域叙事编织的可能性。在冰冷的材料堆中，肉体重获新生；带有人类元素又脱离于现实的抽象主体，让视觉经验和感官体验于亲近感与疏离感间摇曳。

The artist's sculptures immerse us in familiar yet unfamiliar scenes by combining different media such as images, materials, words, actions, and sounds. They allow us to explore the "nameless" artificial landscapes in cities, nature, and film sets and investigate the possibilities of narrative weaving in specific contexts. The body is rejuvenated in the cold heap of materials; abstract subjects with human elements but detached from reality fluctuate between visual and sensory experiences, evoking intimacy and detachment.

工作室画廊于 2016 年初成立于上海，是上海首家支持国际艺术家驻留项目的商业画廊。自成立起，始终致力于支持不同领域、极具潜力的青年艺术家。除了举办专业的展览，画廊还发起了多个话题性的艺术项目，不断丰富在地艺术生态。

As the first gallery in Shanghai to provide international artist residency, Studio Gallery was established in early 2016. Since then, we have continued to support the wide-ranging potential of emerging and new talents, complemented by innovative activities to nourish and enrich the local artistic environment.

The gallery operates two physical spaces. The gallery space locates in the heart of downtown Shanghai, continuously organizing topical exhibitions. While the studio space serves as the academic engine of the gallery space to explore and transform the value generated from artists’ practice into consensus.

With a bold and cutting-edge designed gallery space, we aim to create an inspirational dialogue with the audience through diverse public programs, including topical exhibitions, Artist Talk, Critique Room, etc.
