”四年前的我冲劲十足，像一个冲锋陷阵的战士，只要军号一响，就不顾一切地向前冲。自2008年以来，我先后在纽约做过四次个展，也有一点点小成绩。可是今天我以怎样的心态面对三四年前的自己呢？
我不是一个深刻的人，而是吃饱了倒头就睡的那种人，我很少失眠，我清楚地记得很少几次失眠是在画展之前，今天是因为倒时差，被迫失眠了。睡不着就胡思乱想起来，我开始走神，想想这次画展的意义，我的期望，以及我真正想要实现的目标。我不确定我是否有四年前那样的人生观。“
“Four years ago, I was full of energy, like a warrior charging forward, recklessly charging forward whenever the bugle sounded. Since 2008, I have held four solo exhibitions in New York with some minor achievements. But how do I face myself three or four years ago today?
I am not a profound person, but a type of person who falls asleep when I am full. I rarely suffer from insomnia, and I remember very few times before the art exhibition. Today, due to jet lag, I was forced to suffer from insomnia. When I couldn't sleep, I started to wander and think about the significance of this art exhibition, my expectations, and the goals I truly wanted to achieve. I'm not sure if I have the same outlook on life as I did four years ago.”

“但我终究是向往纽约的。纽约对我来说仍然是一个梦幻般的地方，我只想靠近它。我仍然爱纽约；我喜欢它充满活力和不拘一格的氛围。以前每隔一两年我都会过来看一看，我喜欢找一些小借口来参观这座城市。‘我正在参观一个艺术展！’我会告诉自己和周围的人。事实是，我不想被困在一个地方，也不想一直被其他人跟踪。来到这里是一种逃避。”
“But after all, I yearn for New York. New York is still a dreamy place for me, I just want to get close to it. I still love New York; I like its vibrant and unconventional atmosphere. I used to come and take a look every year or two, and I like to find some small excuses to visit this city. I am visiting an art exhibition! "I will tell myself and the people around me. The fact is, I don't want to be trapped in one place, nor do I want to be constantly followed by others. Coming here is an escape.”

“我想这次我给我的个展取了一个特别合适的名字，“重新开始”。这是我来美国前不久想到的。起初，我在想《从头再来》，但我妻子提醒我，有一部美国电影叫《从头再来》，这是一个关于一个年轻歌手来到纽约的故事。我想起来了；这是一部非常好的电影，它符合我的心情。我的内心还年轻，一切，都还可以从头再来。”
“I think I gave my solo exhibition a particularly suitable name this time, 'Start Again'. This was something that came to my mind not long before I came to the United States. At first, I was thinking about 'Starting Again', but my wife reminded me that there is an American movie called 'Starting Again', which is about a young singer coming to New York. I remember; This is a very good movie, it fits my mood. My heart is still young, and everything can be started from scratch.”

1984年毕业于南京晓庄师范学校美术班
1991年毕业于南京艺术学院美术系版画专业 获刘海粟奖学金。
1991-2008年南京军区政治部前线文工团从事舞台美术
现在工作生活于北京和南京
