Sponsoring West Bund Art and Design for the fifth consecutive year, LINDBERG is collaborating with an artist for the first time this year, to present the collaboration work Nebula with Chinese artist Feng Chen (b. 1986 in Wuhan, China). The work consists of five sculptures, each is made of 1mm thin titanium wires jointed by the spiral hinge design of the LINDBERG spirit titanium collection. The works seem to float above the plinths on the floor like silver nebulas. Expanding on his new material-centered sculptural practice over the past few years, Feng Chen continues to explore material properties and potential through experiments of reshaping and connecting titanium wires. Minimal in color, abstract in form, the linear raw material is transformed into sculptures that activate the surrounding space with their silver metallic shimmer and subtle three-dimensionality.
