天线空间代理艺术家丹尼尔·杜瓦 & 格雷戈里·吉奎尔的纺织作品《狗、睡袍、鞋子和龙虾》被蓬皮杜中心-国立现代美术馆纳入永久收藏。

Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel’s tapestry “The dog, the dressing gown, the shoes and the lobster” has been acquired by the Centre Pompidou, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris.

继2012年获得马塞尔-杜尚奖后，艺术家组合在2013年为蓬皮杜艺术中心315空间的展览“Le Hall”创作了这件作品。作品经过在巴黎工作室中历时数月的手工制作，使用了半套结（half-hitch knot）和平纹编织（tabby weaving）相结合的技术，由一系列彩色腈纶和原色的羊毛条构成。

The work was originally created in 2013 by the duo for their exhibition, Le Hall, in the Centre Pompidou’s Espace 315 following their nomination and win of the Prix Marcel Duchamp 2012. Created by hand in their Paris workshop over several months, the tapestry mixes half-hitch knots and tabby weaving techniques and comprises an array of coloured, acrylic and raw wool strips.

长达 19 米，高近 4 米，贯穿整个展厅空间的织物将各种物象荒诞地并置在一起——一只毛茸茸的柯基犬、一件花纹长款睡袍、一双耐克赤足二代跑步鞋和一只龙虾，它们共同组成了一个超现实主义的视觉语句。

Totalling over 19 meters long and almost four meters high, the work runs the length of the exhibition space, seeing an absurd juxtaposition of objects—a fluffy corgi, a patterned gown, a pair of Nike free run 2.0 sneakers, and a lobster—come together to form a surrealist visual sentence.

如以往丹尼尔和格雷戈里的创作实践，他们所采用的技法是为了充分说明所描绘的主题：例如，作为材料的羊毛纹理呼应了睡袍的特质，龙虾斑驳背部上浮现的圆点召唤着像素般的针脚。

As is often the case in Dewar and Gicquel’s practice, the technique employed speaks volumes to the motifs depicted: for example, the medium’s woolly texture echoed by the dressing gown, the dot-by-dot apparition of the lobster’s mottled back recalling the pixel-like nature of each stitch.

以家庭空间为概念，这件庞大的、纪念碑式的织物邀请观众进入博物馆的 “厅堂”，回到能出现在任何居家场景中的，可以脱掉鞋子、换上睡袍的阈限空间。

Playing with the notion of the domestic space, the work was conceived as an oversized, monumental tapestry welcoming viewers into the museum’s ‘Hall’, harking back to the liminal place in any household where you might take off your shoes and slip into a robe.

这件作品不仅体现了二人独特的创作方法，同时也是他们2018年在阿姆斯特丹罗金地铁站所开展的大型创作的序章；该项目采用了相似的构图，将物品、植物和动物组织为不和谐的短语，并用石材镶嵌完成。

This ambitious piece not only attests to the duo’s unique artistic approach, it also acted as a prelude to their 2018 large-scale intervention in the Amsterdam Rokin metro station, which sees a similar composition of objects, flora, and fauna organised in an incongruous phrase and completed in stone marquetry.
