我们很荣幸与Biye Carpet碧曳和田手工地毯品牌共同呈现Biye艺术家合作款地毯展览「无界的编织」，展出来自十位当代艺术家的地毯设计。

新疆——中国民族成分最全的省级行政区之一，众多民族在交流、交往、交融的过程中，涵化成多元融融（交融/包容）的文化环境。其中，以中国美学为基础的新疆和田手工地毯，在格律体的结构中，融入新疆多民族文化特色纹样和图案，尝试实践多元一体的文化自觉。

Biye Carpet 碧曳由高台当代艺术中心创立，专注传承和复兴古老的和田手工地毯工艺。Biye一词源自古于阗语“织工”，项目旨在通过合作富有国际影响力的设计师，艺术家，以及和田地区最优秀的手工地毯工坊及织作者，不断推动和田手工地毯的创新设计和对外传播。在这些美丽的和田手工地毯背后，是一代代以家庭和村庄为单位的织工世家，用指尖手艺传递着的智慧和经验。

在2022年，BIYE开启了艺术家合作项目，并在过去的两年里邀请了十位才华横溢的艺术家进行了地毯创作，他们的视角穿梭于和田的古老传统与当代的艺术探索之间，将自己的创意和灵感注入每一寸纤维之中。这些作品，不仅仅是地毯，更是故事、实验场，对人类活动和创造力的无尽探索。

第一期项目邀请了艺术家陈天灼、程然、林奥劼、刘昕和马海伦，他们在和田的深入驻地体验后，创作出五款令人惊叹的地毯作品。这些作品不仅展现了艺术家个人风格与对和田文化的理解，还为传统地毯工艺赋予了一层全新的当代意义，是对和田手工地毯无限可能性的探索。

第二期项目进一步拓展了艺术与工艺的边界。艺术家娜布其、武晨、徐毛毛、张娜和夏乔伊，带来了更加多元的地毯创作。这些地毯中有着对自然和人文的颂歌，也是对现代生活哲思的反映，每一块地毯都讲述着一个独特的故事，展现着艺术家与手工艺人之间的深刻对话。

「无界的编织」将于3月8日（周五）开幕，展览免费向公众开放，欢迎前来观展，共同邂逅传统和当代的“无界编织”。

We are honoured to present the "Boundless Weaving" carpet exhibition in collaboration with Biye Carpet, a brand specializing in handmade carpets from Hotan. The exhibition features carpet designs from ten contemporary artists.

"Biye Carpet" was founded by Gaotai Gallery, dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the ancient Hotan handmade carpet craft. The term "Biye" originates from the ancient Khotanese language, meaning "weaver." By collaborating with internationally influential designers, artists, and the finest handmade carpet workshops and weavers in Hotan, Biye continuously drives the innovative design and external promotion of Hotan handmade carpets. Behind these beautiful carpets are generations of weavers from families and villages, passing down wisdom and experience through their craftsmanship.

In 2022, BIYE launched an artist collaboration project, inviting ten talented artists to create carpet designs over the past two years. Their perspectives weave between Hotan's ancient traditions and contemporary artistic exploration, infusing their creativity and inspiration into every fibre. These works are more than just carpets; they are stories, experimental grounds, and endless explorations of human activity and creativity.

The first edition of the project invited artists Tianzhuo Chen, Ran Cheng, Aojie Lin, Xin Liu, and Hailun Ma, who, after deep immersive experiences in Hotan, created five astonishing carpet pieces. These works not only showcase the individual styles of the artists and their understanding of Hotan culture but also endow traditional carpet craftsmanship with a new contemporary significance, exploring the infinite possibilities of Hotan handmade carpets.

The second edition expanded the boundaries of art and craftsmanship. Artists Nabuqi, Chen Wu, Maomao Xu, Na Zhang, and Joey Xia brought more diverse carpet creations. These carpets are odes to nature and humanity and reflections on modern life's philosophies, with each carpet telling a unique story and showcasing profound dialogues between artists and craftsmen.

"Boundless Weaving" will open on Friday, March 8th. The exhibition is free to enter, and we welcome everyone to witness the "boundless weaving" of tradition and contemporaneity.
