At dawn, the roaring enthusiasts set off once again. On this pure land yet contaminated by nuclear radiation, tadpoles, and elephants are crammed in an underground candy house. The Crazy Dave has transformed into the Pea Princess after eating the poisoned banana. The three little pigs blow the little girl disguised as the Grammar Wolf into the sky. In the desert, the frog battles the Teletubby with a snake body alongside Aladdin. The Clown King’s four legs are transformed into a fishtail by a compassionate octopus monster. The Super Mario Bros’ mustache grows longer, hanging down from the castle window, as the evil dragon climbs up along it, drooling. Whether it’s day or night, the roaring enthusiasts never interrupt this monotonous yet exciting performance.

Together, we have conquered the wilderness of illusions and has exposed the decaying flesh. We are comrades, enemies, and monsters. We are the brilliant heroes standing on the dumping ground. We are the single-celled organisms floating with the bubbles on the sea and striving to conquer it. We once played hide-and-seek with shadows in the moonlight. We once screamed and moaned in the rain. We once glided through storms on golden dark clouds. Now, hand in hand, we are embracing the blazing sun. In the cerebral paradise that transcends the laws of the universe, in the dark and damp ant caves deep within the sewers, the giant white gears slowly start to run. We shout and shine like stars, confronting the cracks between the old and new world. At dawn, the roaring enthusiasts set off once again. In our burning eyes, a bright tomorrow is glimmering, for we know that the darkness is never far away from tomorrow. At dawn, the roaring enthusiasts set off once again. We will progress together, never giving up. Shining like stars, forever and ever.

Established in 2018, ONS is an anonymous art group primarily focused on painting as its main medium of creation. Since the members are not fixed, in their collaborated on-site painting projects, each member can exert the right to cover and modify another’s artwork until the project is collectively deemed complete. Proceeds from the sale of artworks are used to support independent art activities. The influence on one another is viewed as an enriching interaction and joy in the process.

“The ONS Young Artists Support Programme” is designed to support fresh and dynamic artistic creation by young artists who continue to practice and innovate in the complex context of contemporary culture, and the ONS Group will organise group exhibitions of young artists in conjunction with different art organisations on a regular basis. The exhibition will invite curators, critics, artists to recommended, and select artworks with a vote by ONS team members. Selected artists will receive the support to finance part of the material costs.
