出入艺术空间欣然宣布，将于2024年5月12日（星期日）推出苏艺个展“悬溺的感知”。展览为艺术家个人项目，共展出包含水漆、丙烯等综合材质艺术作品二十余件。苏艺作品借助对颜料的细致入微的体会，把材质透明的光韵美感用一种温润的方式赋予了硬边风格一种不同的视觉感受。在非叙事的状态下，观者通过她的作品获得一个对我们所处时代深层次的感知。这种感知不需要固定的解读，它是一个开放的状态。出入艺术空间，欢迎您的到来。展览持续至6月30日。
In and Out Art Space is pleased to announce the launch of the Su Yi's exhibition "Suspended Perception" on Sunday, May 12, 2024. The exhibition is a personal project of the artist, a total of more than 20 works of art including  water paint, acylic and other comprehensive materials. With the help of the meticulous experience of pigments, Su Yi's work give the hard edge style a different visual feeling by giving the transparent light charm of the material  in a warm and moist way. In a non-narrative stage,the viewer gets a deeper perception of The Times we live in through her works. This perception does not require a fixed interpretation, it is an open state. Welcome to In and Out Art Space. The exhibition runs until June 30.

Suspended Perception?

本次展览围绕艺术家苏艺展开，呈现她对极简抽象艺术的探索性表达。
极简主义发生于20世纪60年代，被艺术史描述为一场艺术运动，时至今日仍在发展。纵使对极简主义褒贬不一，也掩盖不了极简主义是现代主义洪流中形式主义的顶点。相较于初代艺术家的先锋性，今日的极简艺术家少了“敢为天下先”的锋芒，但不妨碍后辈在新的历史语境下继续延展这种表达方式的多样态特征。
艺术家以个体经验为出发点，多维度探索艺术语言形式，借助抽象的图形不断接近那些不可言说的感知。
在极简主义表述方式里建立大框架，依托元素化为表达基本点，在实践中扩展、推进。从《光柱》经历《限框》再到《基本形》，画面中图形的不同构成来自于对材质语言的细致入微的体会、感悟。推进形式语言流变的同时伴随始终的是艺术家对自身的内观。艺术家与作品的影响也是双向的，形式语言的推进带来对原有观察角度的重新审视。创作中，从颜色层层叠加的透明性到表现光韵质感，再到对画面中颜色层的空间性理解，都是艺术家灵感的来源。当作品以一种元素化的状态置入空间，对建筑空间性的再次审视刺激艺术家，激发出创作的另一重可能性。这很能挑动艺术家的创作欲望，充满激情。然而当你似乎触碰到作品背后那一团神奇时，可能又会因为出现了多样元素而暂且停顿、观察、再选择。
亦如至上主义纯粹的感知，我深信艺术家要从个体经验出发，深入其中感知、扩展、迭代、内卷自己去接近那感知的深处——接近自己的直觉。艺术家是自由不应该受限的，深入其中，不断向内碰撞，层层深入。围绕着寻找“自我”这根主线，悬溺而不走失。

This exhibition revolves around the artist Su Yi, presenting her exploratory expressions in minimalist abstract art.

Minimalism emerged in the 1960s and is described in art history as an artistic movement that continues to evolve today. Despite mixed reviews, minimalism remains the pinnacle of formalism in the flood of modernism. Compared to the pioneering nature of the first-generation artists, today's minimalist artists may lack the cutting edge of "daring to be the first," but this does not hinder their descendants from continuing to expand the diverse characteristics of this expression in a new historical context.
Starting from individual experience, the artist explores artistic language forms from multiple dimensions, constantly approaching those unspeakable perceptions through abstract graphics.

A broad framework is established within the minimalist expression, relying on elements as the basic points of expression, which are expanded and advanced through practice. From "Light Column" to "Limited Frame" and then to "Fundamental Element", the different compositions of the graphics in the paintings stem from a meticulous understanding and perception of the material language. While advancing the evolution of formal language, the artist's introspection accompanies it throughout. The influence between the artist and their work is bidirectional, and the advancement of formal language brings a re-examination of the original observation angle. In the creation process, from the transparency of overlapping colors to expressing the texture of light, and then to the spatial understanding of color layers in the painting, they are all sources of inspiration for the artist. When the work is placed in a space in an elemental state, a re-examination of architectural spatiality stimulates the artist and inspires another possibility of creation. This can provoke the artist's creative desire with passion. However, when you seem to touch the magic behind the work, you may pause, observe, and make another choice due to the emergence of diverse elements.

Just like the pure perception of suprematism, I firmly believe that artists should start from individual experience, delve into it, expand, iterate, and turn inward to approach the depths of perception - to get closer to their instincts. Artists are free and should not be restricted. They should delve into it, constantly collide inward, and delve deeper and deeper. Focusing on the main line of searching for "self," they hover and do not lose their way.
