The Construction of Fear

恐惧是人类与生俱来的感觉，它是对代表威胁的各种外部刺激的躯体化反应。在各种规模的社会环境中，这些刺激可能以激烈或隐晦的方式被有意挑起。

当这些刺激被设计在某种类型的社会控制项目之内时，大众传媒和通信的作用就变得至关重要，以至于它们的技术和科技影响可以强烈地影响观众感知现实的方式；在这种情况下，恐惧是一个复杂的政治要素，也是大规模控制和秩序发展中的战略组成部分。

Fear is a sensation inherent to human beings, it somatizes its effects in response to a variety of external stimuli that represent a threat. In social settings of all sizes, these stimuli can be provoked intentionally, and in a violent or subtle way.

When these provocations have been designed within a certain type of social control projects, the role of the mass media and communication becomes crucial, to the extent that their technical and technological impact can strongly influence the way in which audiences perceive reality; Fear in this case is a complex political element, and a strategic component in the development of mass control and order.

蒙塔达斯（Muntadas）

蒙塔达斯1942年出生于巴塞罗那，1971年移居纽约。他试图通过作品，探讨诸如“社会框架内的公共和私人空间之间的关系”等社会、政治和传播问题，并对信息渠道及其可能被应用于审查或传播思想的方式进行了深入研究。其创作媒介涵盖了摄影，录像，出版物，互联网，装置和城市干预。

Muntadas was born in Barcelona in 1942 and has lived in New York since 1971. His work addresses social, political and communications issues, the relationship between public and private space within social frameworks, as well as channels of information and the ways they may be used to censor central information or promulgate ideas. He works on projects in different media such as photography, video, publications, Internet and multi-media installations.
