Project Description

The "Screening Project" is a long-term exhibition plan at START MUSEUM, proposed and established by the curator and director, Mr. He Juxing. This project will be the opening exhibition of START MUSEUM every year.

The "Screening Project” engages in long-term, continuous, and systematic exhibition practices, focusing on the forefront of video, sound, and other recognizable symbol of art, discovering more valuable human society information, recognition and observation on an international scale, presenting pioneering work in terms of independent research perspectives, independent historical value clues, and independent exhibition research methods. Additionally, we will invite scholars who have different backgrounds to participate in writing and discussions, forming a multidimensional extensive research system.

Call for Submissions

For the organization and implementation of this project, START MUSEUM is now openly calling for submissions for Screening Project Ⅱ —the first exhibition of 2025. The details are as follows:

Deadline:

Until December 1, 2024.

Requirements:

1. Artists can be creators of video, sound, and other recognizable symbol of art like taste, smell, etc., from any country or region.

2. Works must be declared as original creations by the artist.

3. The works should be variable dimensions and methods for exhibition display.

Submission Guidelines

Please send the following content to email address:

info@startmuseum.com

The email subject should include "Screening Project Ⅱ + Artist's Name"; Please include the artist's contact information in the email body.

1. A personal biography written and signed by the artist (50-300 words).

2. Description of the work (50-300 words or unlimited).

3. A set of high-resolution images for review (5 pics or more).

4. Installation instruction of the work, including equipment, technical support, etc.

5. The work itself (preview version only).

6. The above items can also be completed by the representative person or gallery of artist.

Benefits

Artists selected and included in the Screening Project II by the academic research group of START MUSEUM will receive corresponding artist fees, exhibition records, and publications by START MUSEUM.
