艺术是探索和反思我们所处时代的独特媒介。在这个精彩纷呈、变幻莫测的时代，世界在我们眼中的模样始终与文化复兴、城市发展以及自我精神世界紧密相连。深圳美术馆作为与这座城市共同成长、不断迭代的文化机构，始终关注着社会变迁、科技发展和文化潮流，并对当代艺术与城市空间的关系、美术馆在城市生活中的角色等问题进行深入思考。

Art serves as a unique medium for exploring and reflecting upon our era. The vibrant and ever-evolving times we inhabit are intricately connected to cultural revival, urban development, and the spiritual dimensions of the self. As an art museum that has grown and evolved in tandem with the city, for years, Shenzhen Art Museum has kept eyes on social transformations, technological advancements, and cultural trends. It has also engaged in profound contemplation regarding the interplay between contemporary art and urban spaces, as well as the role of art institutions within urban life.

自2002年起，深圳美术馆确立了“关注当代都市艺术、关注深圳本土艺术”的学术目标，成为国内较早明确以“当代”为学术方向的艺术机构之一。围绕这一目标，美术馆策划了多场当代艺术展览，并发起“深圳美术馆论坛”，邀请在当代艺术领域活跃的艺术理论家和学者，探讨中国当代艺术创作中的实际问题。系列学术活动系统梳理了20世纪90年代以来兴起的中国当代艺术和深圳本土艺术的发展状况。在此基础上，深圳美术馆深入艺术家工作室调研，积极收藏具有代表性的作品，并在深圳市宣传文化发展专项基金的支持下，逐步建立起具有规模和特色的当代艺术收藏体系。

Since 2002, Shenzhen Art Museum has set the academic objective of “focusing on contemporary urban art and local art from Shenzhen.” As one of the earliest professional art institutions in China to explicitly define its academic focus as “contemporary,” the museum has curated a series of contemporary art exhibitions aligned with this objective. Additionally, it has convened the “Shenzhen Art Museum Forum,” bringing together different voices in contemporary art discourse. The forum selects topics based on the current state of Chinese contemporary art creation and invites active art theorists and scholars to share their insights. These academic activities have systematically reviewed the development of Chinese contemporary art and Shenzhen's local art since the 1990s. Building on this foundation, Shenzhen Art Museum, in line with its academic stance, proactively conducts studio visits and discussions on artwork acquisition. Later, with the support of the Shenzhen Publicity and Culture Development Special Fund, it has expanded its efforts to build and refine its contemporary art holdings, thereby establishing unique characteristics on a significant scale.

本次展览汇集了深圳美术馆多年来收藏的当代艺术作品，涵盖油画、水墨、影像、装置、雕塑等多个艺术门类。展览分为四个单元——“物象的表里”“你我的形状”“看得见的城市”和“时间的肌理”，从观物、观人、观境和观时四个角度出发，将艺术与我们对日常生活、自我与他者、传统文化、城市空间等诸多问题的思考相结合，构建出一个充满层次与深度的当代艺术空间。当代艺术是时代的镜像，艺术家通过作品表达了对所处时空的观察与反思，通过这些作品，我们直观地感受到社会的多样性与复杂性，涵盖了经济、环境、文化等问题的广泛探讨。美术馆秉持使命与责任，保存了许多能够承载这些珍贵记忆的艺术作品，也由此见证了改革开放以来人与物、时与空、情与理等多维度的变迁与碰撞。我们希望通过展览，与观众一同见证和感受“敢闯敢试，开放包容”的新时代城市精神。同时，我们也期待展览中的作品能引发观者的思考与共鸣，使每位观者在丰富多样的艺术形式中找到属于自己的表达方式，去观察、感悟、铭记并珍惜我们周遭这些珍贵的存在。

This exhibition showcases the masterpieces of Chinese contemporary art collected by Shenzhen Art Museum over the years, encompassing oil painting, ink and wash painting, video, installation, sculpture, among others. The exhibition is divided into four thematic units - Appearance and Essence of Things, Images of Self and Other, Visible City, and Reasoning and Structure of Time - integrating art with our daily lives, traditional culture, and urban spaces to create a contemporary art space with rich layers and depth. Contemporary art acts as a mirror of the times, with artists conveying their insights and reflections on the present and local conditions through their creations. These works allow us to directly perceive and experience the multifaceted aspects of society, encompassing economic, environmental, gender, and cultural issues. The museum steadfastly upholds its mission and responsibility to preserve numerous artworks that encapsulate these invaluable memories for the city. This commitment has enabled Shenzhen Art Museum to witness the multifaceted changes in people, objects, time, space, emotions, and rationality since the reform and opening up. We anticipate witnessing and experiencing the new era urban spirit of “being brave, courageous, open, and inclusive” alongside our audience. We hope the displayed works inspire reflection and resonance, helping viewers discover their own artistic expressions and fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty around us.

深圳美术馆始终坚持围绕学术定位展开收藏，多年来逐渐形成以中国画名家经典收藏、精品版画、当代油画、深圳本土艺术、深圳摄影为主要板块的收藏特色。习近平总书记在给中国美术馆的老专家老艺术家回信中强调：“在高质量收藏、高水平利用、高品质服务上下功夫。”藏品是立馆之本，是美术馆开展学术研究、展览策划、教育推广、对外交流等各项工作的重要基础。高质量收藏更是为美术馆专业化建设、高质量发展不断蓄力。深圳美术馆在“立足本土、面向世界，立足时代、面向未来”的新学术定位下，打造了全新的“美在斯”深圳美术馆典藏系列展。“美在斯”源自深圳美术馆所藏、书画名家程十发先生于1986年题赠本馆的书法作品《美在于斯》，寓意美好的事物在此汇聚。此系列将依托馆藏资源，深挖不同板块藏品的学术价值，不定期策划相关展览，为引领社会风尚、传承文化发展汇聚新动能，推动新时代美术馆事业发展迈向新阶段。

Shenzhen Art Museum has consistently focused on collecting in alignment with its academic objectives, gradually establishing a distinctive collection that encompasses classic works by renowned Chinese painters, fine printmaking, contemporary oil paintings, local art from Shenzhen, and photography from the region. In his reply to a letter by veteran experts and artists from the National Art Museum of China, President Xi Jinping called for ”painstaking efforts on the part of the museum to improve the quality of its collection, promote its utilization level of artworks, and provide better services.” Collections serve as the cornerstone of a museum, providing a vital foundation for its academic research, exhibition curation, educational outreach, and international exchanges. The pursuit of high-quality collections is instrumental in fostering the museum's professional advancement and sustainable high-quality development. Under its refreshed academic mandate of “Rooted in the Local, Facing the World; Anchored in the Present, Looking to the Future,” Shenzhen Art Museum has launched a new ”Here Unfolds the Beauty” - Exhibition Series of Shenzhen Art Museum Collections. The title "Here Unfolds the Beauty" is inspired by a calligraphic piece, “Here Is Unfolding the Beauty,” gifted to the museum in 1986 by the esteemed artist Mr. Cheng Shifa, symbolizing the convergence of beauty within these walls. This series will leverage the museum's extensive collection, delving deeply into the academic significance of its various segments, and will periodically curate exhibitions to foster new energies in guiding social ethos and sustaining cultural heritage, thereby propelling the museum sector into a new era of advancement.
